I had a mission reciently where I was closing on a cleveland that was ripping me limb from limb, suddenly it turned and ran away not firing at all once I got within 10 KM while stating that in real life cruisers would have ran away. I don't get this though, he would have sunk me if he kept on firing on my kongo but instead he runs to the opposite side of the map... cowardice?

Cowardice, and under the stupid belief that he'd be nuked. Crap happens.

He would be nuked if he was showing his broadside.

He was bow on and I actually lost one of my forward turrets, he flashed his broadside to me TO turn away and nearly did get nuked.

I would have giggled and tracked him down, while taunting him by hanging the smoldering turrets from his fallen teammates from my bow.... :playing:

And then laughed at him as the water around the ship turns brown and yellow before shoving a bunch of HE and AP rounds up his stern..... :hiding:

At least then, he would have a real reason show cowardice.

Would have loved to but as stated, down a front turret and kongo doesn't have the best luck hitting something using only one turret.

Depends on the battleship driver. Certainly by the time I'm within 10km of a BB  I have a pretty good idea whether I need to be afraid of him or not. If not, no reluctance to bring the rear turrets into play and kick the rudder over when he fires (I mean, when you get super duper close then maybe go bow-on regardless, but...).

That's his error right there; this isn't real life. This is a video game. :fishpalm:

Don't ya just hate it when you are running with another cruiser and you have a ship that concentrated fire from both of you would kill it fast but the other guy gets cold feet and turns and deserts you?

It's like they'll lose their "no claim bonus" if they sink. Nothing more frustrating than being in the thick of it dodging shells left and right and when you look at the mini map half your team are huddled behind an island where they can't even fire on the enemy.

It's not virtual cowardice, it's flat out cowardice honestly. Turning tail and running from sure victory because he has a bigger gun or the potential to do you alot of harm?

its often difficult to explain stupid behavior. but then again, as the old saying goes "when an enemy makes a mistake don't interrupt him"!:hmm:

Cowardice in a computer game is as silly a notion as bravery in a computer game.  They're both illusions.

Being able to continue fighting despite the odds being against you is the same both virtual or not but hey, continue with your poor perception of reality.

It wasn't cowardice- it was someone with a sense of humor like mine:   pound a guy to within an inch of his life, then run away laughing hysterically!

Seriously, the sailors lined up on the aft deck mooning you should have tipped you off.

Goad a guy into unloading his big ol BB guns uselessly, then return to pound him again while the crickets are chirping on his reload.

It basic "How to REALLY irritate a Battleship Captain 101."
