This is intended? A single torpedo does 41,851 damage when it hits the nose of the Myogi? A citadel hit does about 10k with a battleship, but a remote controlled torpedo bomber can do 41k damage with a single torp? This is why your game fails.

Guns can do it too. If it's happened to you several times... you should have a pretty good stock of signal flags that make you immune.

You're extremely lucky then.  When you consider the frequency of being shelled vs being torpedoed, you should have detonated like 50 times by now.

I remember getting hit in the bow of my very healthy New York by a torpedo and getting a magazine explosion that one shotted me.  I've also been mag explosion 1 shotted in numerous other ships, like my Marblehead, Murmansk, and a number of DD's.  It happens.  I've gotten to the point that it doesn't bother me in the slightest.  It's just a part of realistic naval combat.  3 RN battlecruisers were lost at Jutland due to mag explosions (and nearly a 4th, except that a mortally wounded officer flooded his magazine before he died to prevent a fire from blowing up his ship).  And everyone knows about the Bismark sinking the Hood due to a mag explosion.

I had this happen too, though I was playing the DD.  It was a Russian DD, though I don't remember if it was the tier 6, 7, or 8 one at the time.  But the even stranger thing was that I nuked the BB's mag with a simple little old HE shell.  Seriously, how does an HE shell from the pew pew gun of a DD manage to penetrate so deeply into the ship that it can reach and blow up a BB's magazine?  Did RNG fairies drop it down a smoke stake or something?

I think it's the DD gods returning the favor.  Lord knows how often DD's find themselves detonating compared to the other classes..

Reminds me of the time I 1-shot a North Carolina with a single torpedo from my Mutsuki. I still have a screenshot of the results screen, it was a sweet sweet kill in an otherwise unremarkable match. Torpedo detonations happen, keep calm and carry on.
