The Sims, getting me DD kills? Imagine that.

Like the title says, been trying to use the sims on the ARP Myoko mission and the hilarious part is, it's working. I don't know what it is, but every DD is suddenly gunning for me and instead of staying at range, they want to come barreling in hell for leather at close range.

 

Maybe it's the rookie driver syndrom, or they simply see "free meal" but please, keep coming close range in a Sims, where it's literally one of the most dangerous DDs around considering how fast it's guns fire and at 5 KM or lower, gun arc means jack.

 

I thought i'd share this odd, but slightly funny tid bit today.

lot of DD drivers are rushing to their death trying to get DD kills lol I had this Ognevoi rush me and 2 allied DDs to get a kill. We had 2 Farragut... He died pretty damn quick

I torped a blysk that was charging my mutsuki  where I was hidden in a smoke capping.    I actually fired the torp at another ship, but he caught 2  of 3.   he told me good shot, I didn't say anything.     later that game,  guy driving a BB shot at me for kill stealing.   some people in your own team sheesh.    idiots.   like it is tough to kill a CA in a BB  lol.

Sims at anything over 7km is painful. 

 

Anything under it's hilarious.

Sims is a great DD hunter: eight fast hard hitting 5.5km torps, four fast firing guns, turns on a dime to avoid incoming fish, and fast enough to chase down wounded DD's trying to escape.  Good times.

I am not surprised at all that you are having more success killing DDs with a DD.  When I was doing the Kongo version, I had better luck using my CAs but when it came to to the DD kills it was slow going.  I just had a hard time finding DD in my tier VII CAs but when I jumped into my DDs it was much easier.  Not to mention I had an easier time moving around the map and not getting sniped by the enemy for a CA kill quest.

Nope. Give me the slow 9.2k torps any day over the "just for show" 5.5k torps, even in a knife fight.
