Poll: Best BB of Every Tier!!!

What do you guys think is the best BB for her tier!!! My thanks go to our friend Kermut for posting a related poll about the best CV by tier (http://forum.worldofwarships.com/index.php?/topic/34811-poll-best-cv-by-tier/page__mode__show). I have also pulled some data from WarshipStats' ship analytics and summarized it here. Kill/death ratio is recalculated using KDR = SKR/(1-SR), because the WarshipStats' formula for kill/death ratio is not right:

Why do people use Warshipstats? I thought I read somewhere that they collect data from searched player names only, so wouldn't that make their data collection results skewed?

It does, but not very significantly. The stats are only unreliable if the ship is especially preferred or unpreferred not by the player population WarshipStats selects.

Also OP you didnt leave an option for no clear winner, there are a couple tiers were the BBs are very competitive with each other.

South Carolina, Imperator (why even ask?), Kongo, New Mexico, Colorado, Tirpitz (because I'm a German homer and torps = fun), Iowa, Yamato.

Ah, the Amagi is not so good in knife fights though. Nothing beats the Tirpitz in a knife fight in my experience. Those torps are a game changer, because if your enemy doesn't eat them, they can be used to force a distraction on the enemy. 

 

 

Yeah it's a shameless plug and I still do pretty poorly in it, but I think the Tirpitz and cruiser that I torped to death did worse than me, so I know I am not the worst player on this server

I think it's partly based on having to play against them and for me the tirp is the biggest threat by far.

I honestly think New York is better than Kongo.

III: Kawachi

IV: Nikolai

V: New York

VI: Fuso, New Mexico, Warspite (I admit, New Mexico is just as good)
VII: Nagato, barely edging out Colorado

VIII: Tirpitz edging out Amagi

IX: Iowa

X: Yamato

Add in CVs every match and include the aspect of playing against those ships and I think the poll changes a bit. 

Also a very small number of people play the prems other than the tirp.

Overall I could hardly care less but I wouldn't mind seeing the same poll regarding how much better one tier is from the last.

Other than health pool and some meager AA they hardly change anything that I notice.

I have both, but the Amagi beats it out on average damage doing even more than the Iowa or Izumo and has a higher win rate.

I'm getting sick of polls that require me to answer every question. That doesn't make sense here since I haven't gotten above Tier VII.

 

I would have voted for Kongo and New Mexico at their respective tiers. I'm neutral on lower tier ships, and I haven't gotten a Nagato yet.

The state of T10 Bbs is pretty disgraceful since most people who know anything about warships give Iowa at least an edge if not complete domination of the Yamato.

But then again it's shells are slow to the point where I can't effectively use them until I get to New York ranges anyway. Lol

However, with the 20km+ ranges that tier 8 BBs can (and do) play at, 6km torps are useless. As well, anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows that if you attack a Tirpitz at close range, you have to ambush it and then go head on. One he's dropped his fish, you can angle to bring more guns to bear.

The New York can also do long range engagements if you get Gun Fire Control Mod.1. It extends the range of the main guns to 18.4km.

Tier 6 is an honest even contest by everything I've seen. 

I personally think Myogi = Wyoming, but hey. I do well in both.

My experience has me preferring the faster rudder shift and higher velocity shells of the New York. 

 

However 26Kt is a nice speed. Lol

You mean 30kt on a Kongo.

New Yorks have lower firepower: Slower firing guns, more dispersion, and an utterly terribly placed Q turret that gets you in trouble for using it. Kongo's ABXY turrets meanwhile angle /very/ effectively.

This poll just shows how people's judgement is so inaccurate. According to server stats the Amagi has tier 9 performance levels at tier 8, the Iowa performs basically as well as the Izumo know yet is rated much higher in the poll, and the tier 3 BBs are actually fairly balanced currently.

Because the amagi's design feels old, and the iowa looks sexier than izumo.

Tier 6, is a tie - Warspite's 15" and good secondaries, and manuverability, vs. the shotgun that is the 20km fuso? Both are good.
