12 Kaystonian8283 Members 210 posts 1,188 battles Report post #1 Posted January 5, 2016 I see a lot of complaining about how ships are OP, ship classes being superior to others, UP ships, ppl screaming nerf/buff, but how about just learning the function(strength/weaknesses) of your ships an how to use them in game play? I understand their are plenty of adjustments needed for the improvement of this game to attempt to balance it,but most of the ships are workable an playable without to much being done to them. What needs to be focused on is ppls game play, team work, and the understanding of the game/ships. So please feel free to ask ppl with experience to help rather than whining an complaining about it. An for those whom will respond to this if you don't mind let ppl know if your will to help them, and those whom need the help add them as friend an communicate with them. We are the wows community an we can help make the game better an fun for all

1,045 dmckay Members 4,729 posts 8,265 battles Report post #7 Posted January 5, 2016 Seems to me lots of players get a ship and play it briefly and move on in their tier climbing quest hence they never get a ship up to par with upgrades etc. I see a lotta player say this or that ship sucks and then I note they only have played less than 20 games in it and never got it upgraded to any extent. Upgrading can make a huge difference in how a ship plays. I have seen a lot of players say the Chikuma sucks but if they only play it with the first hull and 4 guns ya....it's gonna suck. You get 8 guns with upgrade. I don't have it anymore but this is just an example of what I am saying. Warshipstats has it at a 52% win rate. Not bad. Not bad at all. Ya I completely agree with you ppl do that an even I do as well till around t4 or t5. Then it's time to really learn the game play well, as well as, increase ur captains skill up as high as one can whole putting games under your belt. Since after t5 gaming becomes different an you really have to what your doing, or you die quickly an become a hindrance to your team.
40 Hirst Members 143 posts 982 battles Report post #9 Posted January 5, 2016 I agree with the OP on this. The only ship I did complained about was the Furrytaco. She was horrendous before the buffs. Now she is decent and it is possible to have tons of fun with her.

It's not schooling or work so theirs no interest in me critiquing what I write That's one reason I try to avoid forums. Unfortunately, I enjoy this game and have to put up with the grammar police here. These are probably the same people that think you have to put cereal in the bowl first no matter what and insist on placing a toilet paper roll a certain way. Be a rebel my friend! Screw society! And yes, people need to learn the ships before complaining. They change too much through the tiers and nations. Not to mention play style changes as well. People need to be patient! With their ships as well as their grammar policing... Edited January 5, 2016 by Joe7Six

She was horrendous before the buffs. Now she is decent and it is possible to have tons of fun with her. I do as well, which is why I put down some money on some extra port slots and even some other ships to expand my own knowledge. Only bought the ships though after trying out some other classes first to see if I would enjoy the actual class. That said, the whole "other side of the fence" is great tool in furthering not only your in the ships you enjoy playing and/or choose to specialize in, but it helps give you some insight into what others may experience as "OP or UP". I chose to buy slots, but it isn't needed to be able to do this. Sadly though, people don't want to or feel they shouldn't need to. Either way OP, good post and I agree.

Your last sentence makes more sense if you are using it as a contraction for there is, so it's spelled there's. Funnily enough, this song will help you get a little bit better at making your sentences more coherent Now if anyone can spot the grammatical error that I used, I will +1 them. 33 zilladotexe ∞ Members 125 posts 1,461 battles Report post #13 Posted January 5, 2016 Played a match last night full of Clevelands. Someone in chat was moaning about how the Cleveland is too OP, needs to be nerfed and upped a tier. I told him I have no problem killing Clevelands and citadeling them for days. It's all about knowing how to kill other ships, and which ships to avoid in your current ship. If you know how your ship works, and the weaknesses of other ships, you're usually going to end up on top.

2,469 [NG-NL] Reymu Members 7,273 posts 13,074 battles Report post #15 Posted January 6, 2016 I go by the WOWS wikia, most of the ships there include player commentary on viable tactics and whatnot for using it effectively, plus there's co-op for practicing the ships as well as these forums, not to mention replays and tutorial videos. Frankly, there's no excuse for players to just say the ship is OP, needs nerfs, and all that talk without first learning all this. Sometimes they are just special snowflakes that don't realize they're using the ship poorly and bawl about it, so I just laugh at them. Other times they genuinely want to learn and I'll chip in based on using the ship, fighting it, or what I recall other people saying.

It's not schooling or work so theirs no interest in me critiquing what I write Gotta disagree with you here. While I happen to think that your initial post was not so long as to require being split into more than a single paragraph, some people will write absurdly long, "unparagraphed" blocks of text that are just about unreadable. And, quite frankly, the excuse that just because a forum isn't school or work is offensive to me. The point of learning to do something right (like spelling, grammar, etc.) is so that you can do it correctly all the time, not just when someone important is watching. But also note that, at least in my personal opinion, I don't expect people to have absolutely perfect spelling bee quality spelling. There are almost certainly some words that I don't know how to spell without looking them up. OTOH, one should know how to spell basic words and do basic grammar. Knowing the difference between then and than, or you're, your, and yore, or its and it's, or effect and affect. That's REALLY basic stuff that, IMO, if you can't get right or don't care about getting right, says a lot of things about you, none of them good.

Hmm, I should see how much the CO will sell for and factor that in. The 100 kills challenge is helping with costs but I definitely see a huge lack of skill on my part stopping me from making decent profits already.
