EMDEN German Cruiser??

Ok this premium tier 2 ship...... had to leave room to laugh at it. I personally think the Designers missed the mark on this one. seems that they could of done without it. why Germany needed three cruisers that lob toilet paper rolls at opponents is highly perplexing to say the least. and not historically accurate. If you look up the Emden on wiki you will see the actual stats for the Karlsruhe cruiser. which i thought they completely made up from a weaker Furutaka,  since the actual Karlsruhe is the sister ship of Konnisberg would make sense to swap names with Emden and Karlsruhe. drop the tier two premium ship all together and lower the Nurnberg to a tier 5 premium ship ( since all that it is a Konnisberg with a plane mount) hull thus lowering the tiers of the Yorck, Hipper, Roon and Hindenberg leaving the 10 Tier open for an O class battle cruiser that was scraped prior to WW2 conflict.  in hindsight kinda shouldn't of shotgunned the whole tier system of German cruisers and actually did some research first..

You do know the Tier II Premium Emden is the Dresden-class SMS Emden, not Königsberg-class right? The Emden that had a bit of a fight with the HMAS Sydney in 1914.

The Dresden class CAs of the Imperial German Navy were, to my mind, one of the best long ranged scout/commerce raiding CA designs of the pre-WWI era.

Emden was a Dresden class CA.

 

Both ships had very distinguished careers before their demise.

On a side note. I am professional merchant navy and find sea shepherd "officers" endanger their crew and passengers and other shipping, and the environment, to a level, where I can not understand how they have flag or class.

The Emden is a piece of garbage. Most games it takes over 100 HE rounds to kill a TIER ONE cruiser and AP bounces off a lot! With an artillery rating of 7, half of what a Dresden has, the ship is a cruel joke and only good for PvE battles.

Good point.  Tho' I'm not inclined to coin any premium boats, and that I'm pretty much a noob 'round these .NA waters, it was interesting/amusing to earn this one.

 

I like and enjoy it for the gaming and not necessarily the history of this IGN ship; although in a cursory lookup of this boat I found the Bombardment of Madras historically informative.  Nevertheless, I'll probably keep it in order to grind other IGN commanders, if and or when I get another IGN ship.

The Emden seems to be a very underappreciated premium for its tier. However, if it takes you over 100 rounds to knock a t1 cruiser, then you obviously have some serious issues. Would be wise to go back to your training methods and learn how to use the proper tragectory when using any ship which doesn't incorporate excessive rounds to hit a target.
