Was I supposed to get a free premium ship?

I'm not a premium member - I just came out of a random match in my Phoenix and there was an Emden sitting in my port.  I didn't purchase it and I can't find any more information about why it's there.  I'm obviously missing something ... can someone please explain?

To elaborate a bit, you had to first score 10 kills, then do 300,000 damage, then finally set 20 fires.

 

You didn't have to do anything beyond playing normally - the mission kept track of it all for you.

Funny how some people complained about the requirements to get a *free ship.  This guy just proved you can earn the ship without even knowing about the challenge, which is what most of us were saying all along.

Yeah, thanks WoWS. I had the exact same experience. I played with either Phoenix or Omaha and had a very respectable match. When I got back to the port, there she was, Emden. I too was very confused. 

 

I had looked at Emden just after it came out and thought about buying it but decided that having Dresden was enough, both ships are Dresden class so I figured there would not be enough of a difference to warrant the gold. Anyhow, when I saw Emden in my port, I was sure I had mistakenly mis-clicked on something and bought it.

 

I was very relieved and pleasantly surprised to discover that I had actually won something; though, I am still not sure exactly what I did to win it.

 

But thanks WoWS. Now I am exploiting the 3X commander point awards per co-op battle to train up my Emden captain.

sadly that is about the same amount of exp you would get in random battles

Not for me lately.  I'm sucking in random with it, so I'm getting about 500 more captain XP in coop then random right now.
