I am really looking forward to the Iowa (USS Kentucky) and should have her once I get about 12 million more gold. I like BBs a lot, like I said right now its the NC because she is big, fat, and packs a big punch. I predict the Iowa will be a really fun ship too! How about you guys and gals? I'm also bias to American ships so that probably helps me here, very patriotic! EDIT: If I had to pick a cruiser and a DD. Currently with what I Have it would have to be the Cleveland as my cruiser and probably the Gnevny Russian DD, lol If I could figure out how to play it correctly! You have to win and take as little damage as you can with it or it costs too many credits to play with it. I guess that is the problem with any tier 8+ ship, Although I think the Atago is my favorite right now. Very nice cruiser. 2 ttb Members 6 posts Report post #8 Posted January 4, 2016 Only up to tier 6 so far, the St Louis is my fun ship, definitely keeping her. Omaha was fun, looking forward to seeing what a upgraded Cleveland can do. Currently grinding up the USN CV line, on the cusp of getting the Indy, have had a blast in CV's so far. 24 Celebrim Members 86 posts 1,521 battles Report post #17 Posted January 4, 2016 Tier 2: Umekazi - This is the only vehicle I've ever played in World of Tanks or World of Warships where I wish it got less favorable match making. A tremendously fun little ship that is viable against even much higher tiers thanks to its rapidly cycling long range torpedoes and its enviable stealth and speed. The only reason its not completely OP is that most of its targets at its tier are small fast and nimble. Tier 3: Wickes & Kawachi - Two ships with something of a bad reputation, but both are complete honeys. The Wickes has enough torps to destroy anything it can close with, and just enough range on the torps that it isn't commiting suicide to deliver them. Plus good guns let it win most gun fights with other DD's. The Kawachi has a bit strange layout, but it ensures that you can deliver shots to either side of the ship, and it's cruiser like speed means you can actually determine the time and place of battles and put the enemy team under pressure early enough to make a difference in the outcome. It's low range is more than made up for by its nasty accuracy, its decent armor, and its huge pool of hit points. Tier 4: Izokazi & Myogi - The Izokazi may well be the best ship for its tier in the game. The stealth torping monster can carry hard as long as USN and Russian DD's are knocked out in the early game. The Myogi is practically OP, with crusier like speed, deadly accurate guns, massive map spanning range augemented by a spotter plane, and again a massive pool of hit points. Tier 5: Minekazi & Omaha - Despite the nerfs, this infamous little ship is still insanely fun to play, with everything you'd want in a DD but guns. The introduction of the Russian dd's have balanced it considerably, but if you can isolate BB's, no ship in the game feels more unfair either when driving it or facing it. If it wasn't for the fact that their were several premiums that were basically buffed Omaha's, you could make a reasonable case for the Omaha being the best overall ship in tier 5. You have great guns, great speed, great range, and unlike higher tier USN cruisers - the ability to punish ships that get to close with a reasonable torpedo salvo. You are a superior DD hunter, with the ability to ambush BB's at ranges that would be suicide in most cruisers. It's easy to mishandle this glass cannon, but its really rewarding when you drive it well. Tier 6: Nothing yet. Tier 7: Colorado - Continuing the trend, with only some slight buffs, this much maligned ship is now terrifically fun to play, and the lowest tier USN battleship that actually feels truly worthwhile. Historically, when fully refitted, this class was probably superior to everything the IJN had but the Yamato (and even that was closer than you might think once you factor in things the game doesn't factor in like radar and fire control, and remove the obvious Yamato fetishizing from the game).
