How will the "Millions of Free XP" mistake change you?

How will you personally be affected by this monumental mistake.

 

Considering that we are talking about much more than $1 at stake, it seems to be a little bigger than the Murmansk deal.

 

All thoughts welcome, even that of WG employees.

I just want to get the event done efficiently as long as that is not effected

and that they at least fixed it

Due to a WG screw-up.  Some players got millions of free XP by mistake.  Instead of taking it back, WG is leting them keep it.  Highest recorded case is a player getting over 1.4 million free XP

It seems to me that the only people personally affected are those who got it, while there is some ranting going on from people who didn't. To me that is about the same as being butthurt because someone else won the lottery last week and you didn't.

Except that getting 5000x free xp reward was not stated in the rules.

 

Really, if free xp is no big deal, what would be wrong with leaving it in as a legitimate reward?

I couldn't care less.  So they get a few ships worth of XP.  Who honestly cares?  It's not like they got something unique and unobtainable.  They likely won't have the credits to fund the new ships.  And anyway, a few more population in the high tiers would be good for everyone.

Three things

 

1. They can research the ships, but they may not have the credits to buy, or play them continuously.

 

2. They won;t know how to play them as well.

 

3. Their captains won't have the skills unlocked that a fully grinded captain will.

 

All I see is free kills in the ones that can afford the ships they unlock

If you are mad it's just because it didn't happen to you, it wasn't a exploit just a mistake and I give them props for just fixing it and leavening it at that. No need to compound the issue with roll backs and whatnot. I prob missed the bug by like a hour but who cares. At least something happened in the player bases favor

I heard that in order for them to remove the XP from their accounts, they would have to do a global roleback, which they might not even be able to do, and if they did that, everyone would loose a whole weekends worth of grinding, all your progress and xp over the past 3 days would go away.

 

Just accept that sometimes for convenience, people get lucky, and others don't. End of story.

High-tier games couldn't get much worse. The influx of inexperienced players would literally just have as much affect as someone trying to flood Africa by pissing in the Pacific ocean. The only ones that took a loss would be WG. That glitch probably added up to a few thousand dollars.

Haha wow. I wish I was one of those people. Being able to skip straight to whatever ship you wanted in multiple lines with full upgrades would be a nice little gift.

Christ, just think of the free-exp as WG's reward for them tipping WG off of this massive screwup this early. Could you imagine WG finding out about the xp payout when the majority of the base is almost done with the missions?

Where's the option: "I'm mad I missed out!" - otherwise: Unaffected.

Have fun doing one of two things..

1. Unlocking 1 whole line and having some left over.

2. Grinding as usual but Free XP upgrades so you never have to play X ships as a stock(how I would use it).

I want to know how the first person got to complete the event so fast.  Man they must have a 100% hit rate or something. Killing just cruisers, 30 of, don't come easy. Planes meh, CV. 1 000 000 damage, thats 50 000 avg damage, 20 times, 20 minute battles, do the maths.

If you can't understand why it would be bad for everyone to get 5000X experience - especially now that they know how to exploit that - then you really should just stop posting this in every thread.

A few people got lucky and won't need to play stock ships for quite awhile if ever. It doesn't affect me so why should I be mad? The players did nothing wrong, WG has fixed the problem, and how many people really benefited from this? A few hundred across all servers? It's not like the server is going to be flooded with a bunch of players who suddenly can research tier 10s despite having never played anything higher than a tier 4.
