I'm in the queue and I see 29 cruisers, 4 battleships, 0 destroyers, and 4 carriers. I see a lot of people complaining about DD spam, but it really doesn't seem to exist (those people are stupid anyway). I've never seen quite this many cruisers, but as far as I can recall there hasn't been any drastic shift towards CAs in the meta, or am I wrong?

People are trying to finish quest for killing DD and setting fire. CA is slightly better than BB and IJN DD for these quests.

Probably that DD mission, or that 'kill 150 planes' or 'set 300 ships on fire' mission.

I pretty much entirely finished the 30-cruiser mission with my Myōkō, while occasionally using the Cleveland. I'll probably be using them both for the 30-destroyer mission, or the Mogami once I have enough credits to purchase it, before switching to DD's for the 300 fires mission, then BB's for the damage missions.

The Kongo mission actually got me to haul my Lexington out of port. Shooting down 150 aircraft took somewhat longer than I thought it would. Gone and developed a tactic against the 3/1/1 IJN CVs, sending one squadron of fighters in, drawing in the three IJN fighter squads, and having the second one barrage the area.
