Matches Ending Early?

Is it just me or do some matches seem to end really early for some reason. Have played about 6 matches today that all ended really early even though half the enemy team/my team where still alive.

 

Can anybody shed some light on this? Am I just missing something?

Someone capped the enemies base, awarding them an instant win.

 

Edit: It was a change made back right before release, in OBT. WG changed the standard battle mode to include domination point counters. This way if no base was captured and ships on both teams were alive at 20 min, then at least one team won and one lost, rather than having a draw.

 

The mechanics are the same in the new 'standard battle'(labeled and known as two cap domination) as the old standard battle. Capping out the enemies base awards a win the moment it's captured. The only difference being there was a point value given to capping the base, which just so happens to be 1000 points, the total needed for either side to win.

They end quickly because one team caps and the other is blissfully unaware.  Look at the point score on top of he screen if it hits 1000 you win or lose.

Sorry I wasnt very clear. in domination with more then 2 zones and the point limit hasnt been reached. It's like the game decides a team sucks to bad and puts them out of their misery.

 

 

In 3+ cap dom mode, you can win if you either reach reach 1000 points or cause the enemy to go below 0 points.  The latter may be what happened in your case.

In that case, one team lost too many ships before capturing a base, reducing their point total to 0. If your points or the enemies points reach zero, then it's game over.

It's is a game of points not kills contrary to what newish players think. Anytime a team loses on points it's more than likely because team members failed to pay attention to what is really happening in the game.

If you really want to help your team and become good at this game then learn to protect caps.

After much closer examination of some replays, turns out the enemy went under 0 points. Didn't know that could happen, let alone so quickly.

 

Once again, thank you every for the replies. :child::hmm:

 

It can only happen quickly, if there's enough time between the sunk ships the caps can generate enough points to compensate.

It's is a game of points not kills contrary to what newish players think.

Kills add (for the team that gets the kill) and subtract (from the team that got killed) from the point totals.  Amount varies based on type of ship killed.  At the same time, points are added for capturing zones and for zones already captured.  If a team reaches 1000, the game ends.  If a team goes below 0, the game ends.  If a team caps an enemy base, the game ends.  If time runs out, the game ends.
