when I purchased it, it said Free Xp exchange or something along those lines for the Des and Baltimore..

Can someone explain this?

The ships are now elite (nothing left to research on them), so any exp earned on them can be converted to free exp with only gold at a 1 doubloon to 25 free exp ratio.

You elited the Baltimore and Des Moines and now you can use the xp earned from them to convert to free xp.

yes but i have to use gold. how is that free? i was able to do this in the past with any ship.

Free doesn't mean it's monetarily free, it just means you're free to use it for anything on any ship.

You get free XP as a cut of your earned XP. You also get Ship XP, which on an elite ship can be converted to free XP using doubloons. Free XP can be applied to any ship.

You could never convert elited ship xp to free xp for free.

I have been able to convert XP using dabloons since the beginning. from any ship. How is this different?

No, you could never do that UNLESS that ship had either Premium or Elite status.

ohhh i see! so if i dont have premium. i can use the XP.

well this is disappointing. This ship is a money pit. It does not make credits at all! and the XP is useless to me. I guess thats the end of this game for me.

There is nothing beneficial about the ship. its barely better that than Baltimore. what a let down.

Why is it the end of the game? Gaining a top tier ship is not an end game goal, it's just another ship.

What did you think a Tier 10 did progression-wise at the end of the line if not make convertible XP? :/

I'm not sure what you think a Premium Account has anything to do with free XP. The person above referenced premium ships, which are by default Elite because they come with everything researched.
