Is there something wrong with the atago's torp lead indicator?

I have never ONCE seen it be right, not even for a ship that sailed straight and true, it always makes torpedos fall behind the enemy ship.

I don't think that it's anything to do with the Atago.  The torpedo lead indicator seems to be assuming a single specific speed, regardless of what ship you're really targeting.  For example, I've noticed that if I target a North Carolina or an Iowa moving at full speed, both fairly quick BBs, using the exact aim point given by the lead indicator, the torps will miss rather badly behind them.  IMO, you have to use the lead indicator as a very rough guide rather than an all-knowing perfect aimer most of the time.

I've never had a problem with mine. The ship was probably accelerating slowly, as most captains worth their salt will do at high tiers. It's hard to tell unless you sit there and watch the indicator move...  Which is a bad idea in the Atago, since you have to be in a compromising position to do so.

Fire a spread, both ahead and behind of the indicator.

At tier 8, the Atago is only getting experienced opponents.  And by those tiers, most BB captains have learned to not sail straight and at one speed.  Most.

If people see an Atago make his turn that to drop torpedos they'll instantly know hes launching and slow down. It's hard to miss.

Problem with that is I was already flat broadside to a cruiser I was dueling and dropped my torps in the middle of the reload, with no aircraft or ships between me and that ship.
