Kill the Cruiser/ wth

Who came up with this mission, Fellow Cruiser Capt's stay in port, Just got out of a game every ship on the enemy side just hunted us down there were 4 of us and I think we lasted 2mins. Stay in port until the storm is over!!!!

I'm using a cruiser to do it, makes it easier to get the kill before the bb's clean it up. It really doesn't change the game at all that there is a mission.

That's a [edited]move to make every cruiser stay in port, wargaming is drunk whenever they make a "kill the ____" but don't be as stupid as them by removing the chance.

Honestly, it should have been do "insert damage here" to cruisers and DD instead of kills.  It is a pain in the [edited]because people are chasing kills and not actually working towards winning the match.

Meh.... it hasn't been that bad for me thus far this morning.

 

Regardless, if you want to go after the DD mission, you're probably going to want to be playing a cruiser or a gunboat DD.

 

And BTW, there's also a kill the DD mission too!  And if you think that cruisers have it bad, I'd say that IJN DD's have it much worse, since they aren't particularly good at killing enemy DD's (at least the good anti-DD gunboat DDs) and torping cruisers is more difficult than torping BB's.

 

At least if you're playing a cruiser, you can do unto others before they do unto you, if you catch my drift.

Like most WG missions - it destroys any weak semblance of teamwork that barely existed while everyone focuses on killing specific types of ships - not winning.

I agree with this point, it would be better it it was "do damage with", or "do damage to" type missions

The 3rd part of these two missions *IS* damage based.  1 million damage for each mission, though it's not limited to any particularly ship type either as the target or the shooter.  Just the tier 5 minimum for the Kongo and the tier 6 minimum for the Myoko missions.

Yes but that's just deal damage as a whole so it doesn't count, wargaming is damn drunk when they decide to come up with kill ____ missions because at that point kill stealing really does become a factor.

The point I was making is "kill" quests tend to bring out the worst type of game play and kill the concept of team work.

Well I can't say that, This morning I drew a game with 5 enemy DD's, Ever get chased and hunted by (5) wolf pack of DD's. Not upset about it, it was different just short. there were so many torp's crisscrossing in the water I thought they would hit each other.:izmena:

That is not team work, that was 5 DDs all hoping their torp would get them credit before the other 4 could.  Team work would have been no more than 2 of them hunting you down and the rest going after other targets.  Instead you had nearly half the enemy team chasing a "kill" for their quest.  You actually proved my point :)

i haven't found things to be any different, i have however found it hard to get a dd kill someone always cleans them up before i can get the last shot off.

Not interested in either of these ships. If I do accidentally win one it will be sold so I can use the port slot for a ship I actually want.

wthare you talking about? Been driving the Murmansk and Marblehead non stop and doing JUST fine. Over 1/3 of the way done with the Kongou mission.

I've noticed zero difference.

I fire with extreme prejudice upon all enemies based up 1. range 2. threat level 3. orientation.

The mission is nice but it should not dictate ones in-game actions.

 

I can say with certainty that nobody is ignoring my BB in order to shoot at a CA - that's for sure.

I just had a Cleveland ignore a Pensacola and keep his guns trained in the area I was stealthed in in my Ognevoi...and those poor Atlantas that think they will be killing DD's.  Time to Warspite.

Haven't logged in since Wednesday, but from the sound of this thread, I'm guessing they have a mission running to get the ARP ships, and part of that is killing X number of cruisers and DD's. As many Kancolle and ARP fans I've seen on the forums, I can imagine it's going to be Dodge City in game. When they introduced those "Personal Missions" in WoT last year, things literally went to hell in a handbasket for weeks. Sounds like it's time to strap on a BB and stay in co-op for a while.:hiding:
