I am fairly new to this game but am a US Navy vet. I have really enjoyed playing and it is my new addiction. Found I am much better with cruisers and battle wagons than destroyers. Have not tried carriers yet. Looking forward to more gaming.

I know what you mean about DDs. They can be a real adrenaline rush but take getting used to. After you get killed enough times you start to get the hang of them. American DDs have better guns. I'd say I probably knock off more dds with guns than I do with torpedos. Use smoke when close to other enemy ships. Slow down, stop, reverse ect. and blast sway with your guns. Just bug out before smoke clears. DDs can be a lot of fun.

I mainly do DDs and cruisers. Have a few BBs but play them sporadically.

 

Sold all my CVs after getting to T6 because I did not like the play-style and the multitasking/micromanagement needed (more as you go up in tiers). It is a very different interface and not for everybody.

I too am a U.S. Navy vet, though I spent most of my time attached to the Marines.

I play everything except for CV's, my favorite ship is the Aoba, though the Kongo is cool, too.

DD's are tough, but nuking an enemy BB is a real thrill.

Welcome to the game. I am also a Navy Vet. Served aboard the USS Mobile Bay as a CS. Hope you keep enjoying the game. I am personally a Cruiser and Battleship guy. I like having the raw firepower and hammering my enemies from afar. I tried playing DDs once but I hated how weak they were.

Welcome aboard , this is a great addictive game, really like the cruiser line , tried DDs but was to use to Cruisers so will stick there, being a Navy guy is a big plus here , team playing is how we win
