I have to confess something to you guys. 

 

I'd like to admit that Colorado isn't a despicable piece of trash. While she does have her shortcomings in HP, her guns are stupidly powerful, her armor is hilariously trollish, and some genius decided to give my Colorado the best RNG he could.

I had my best game damage wise last night in my Colorado at 177k, its a really good ship, people just cant accept that it has different strengths than the Nagato....

I honestly can't help but feel that some of the "Colorado sucks" attitude is partially a result of the complaining drivers being staggeringly unwise.

 

I almost feel like every time I see "God, this thing stinks" or some similar comment from an opposing Colorado, he's pretty much painted himself a sign saying "free citadels" for my Nagato.

 

I dunno, I would actually need to go try the thing out to really get a handle on why it gets the reputation it does.

Colorado doesn't deserve her crap reputation, however, she's still below average overall and an HP buff and a small accuracy buff should do the trick.

Actually in CBT she was HILARIOUSLY BAD. But she has gotten way better.

my 12 year old thinks  colorado is OP    he is averaging 58k dmg and hitting 30%  and only 18 battles.    he is retraining  his captain stil and not fully upgraded.    there are just lot of bad BB drivers   still at tier 7,   and you have to aim and hit your target with colorado.  My son's stat (acecloudwalker)

Her only real weakness is her poor shallow HP pool, everything else about her was enjoyable to me

Your Nagota avg dmg is 48k and is an infinitely better ship that isn't stuck with less range, worst dispersion, 15k less health and not still going 20 knots. I mean you people can pretend that the Colorado doesn't have one of the worst 48.2 win rate for BB's and its avg 42k damge that has less than 1k damage difference than the T6 New Mexico.

 

 

Just stop with these threads insisting that the Colorado isn't terrible if you can still do well in her great just stop these posts. The stats don't lie the Colorado is one of the worst BB's in the game.

When I played the Colorado in CBT it was terrible,absolutely the worse. It was missing shots at a couple km at broadside targets and had a long reload/bad turret traverse and had such low hp. The buff fixed the guns so that now they actually hit the target and do damage, it is pretty awesome now.

She's more powerful than most people would give her credit for, especially when you stick her in a CQC situation.

 

I tried brawling with a Colorado once, in my Fuso. I thought he would be easy food like most other players. However, I grossly underestimated his skill and ability; I went in with 32k HP and did not make it out alive. All I managed to do before sinking was chip his HP down from 16k to 14k. 

 

To his credit, he knew his ship well and was able to prioritize my ship as a target the instant I popped around an island in what turned out to be a failed surprise attack. My guns were unable to penetrate his thick armor, which was set at a near-perfect angle. At the same time, his 16" shells tore through mine as if it were made of tissue paper.

 

I was—and still am—not used to being outplayed.

Glad you are enjoying yours and I confess I haven't tried it.  Must say that when I am in my Nagato though I always think "good, they have a Colorado" when I see that opposing me on the other side ;-)

I skipped the Colorado. 

 

Do I regret it? Not really. Numerous times while rofling in my NM I'd been warned of the Colorado. Didn't particularly like the ideal of going from 12 to 8 guns, even if it was a larger caliber. Maybe one day I'll go back to her. But not today.

I still think they need a final hull option that makes it a WV hull with the 5 inch turrets. Just my 2 cents.

Colorado is one of those ships that isn't really made to contend with higher tiers, and even struggles to keep up with Nagato. It definitely is a good brawler, but you can one-shot it at ranged combat.

This.  Still don't think Colorado is quite up to the standard of Nagato, but she's perfectly playable now and a hell of a lot better than she used to be.

 

Edit:  Also yeah, a final WV hull would be cool as well.

Nice. Someone reports doing well with Colorado, contrary to the established and holy CBT Laws of Garbage Ships, and you slag them off. Who the [edited]made you god?

 

Of course Colorado has worse stats. Every BB potato driving her broadside gets immediately wrecked due to low HP. If you set her up with the correct modules and play her properly, she kills more games than not. You know what? I'll take that wide engagement profile, the great AA, the narrow turning circle, and the massive repair party over Nagato any day. I played my way through Colorado to Nor Car; I unexpectedly burned my free XP on Nagato because I finally got fed up with the crazy longitudinal RNG on her despite generally being a damage machine.

I think the problem with the Colorado boils down to speed. At t7 she gets put on a lot of a lot of big water maps and is forced into long range fights. By nature, she's a brawler and doesn't get the same kind of brawling opportunities on a regular basis as the other standards do.
