The rudder shift also made BBs even more vulnerable to CVs, and since 9 and 10 are where you really feel the nerf it's become a festival of camping BBs and hungry DDs.
199 WWWWWWWWWWWVWWWWWWWWWWWW Members 858 posts 15,015 battles Report post #4 Posted December 31, 2015 (edited) I can play the shim on my IPhone its so easy. I only play it when I'm multitasking since it only needs my attention once every 2 mins, alt tab mid game. Same with BB. Zao is the only 10 that isn't a snooze fest now. Oh wow look a huge clump of enemies, TORP WALL GOOOOOO. Edited December 31, 2015 by klattsberg

199 WWWWWWWWWWWVWWWWWWWWWWWW Members 858 posts 15,015 battles Report post #6 Posted December 31, 2015 (edited) I think game needs to be a little cheaper to promote high level gameplay. It could be free repair costs and it would be a campfest in the current state. No BB is pushing into 2+ shimmys and no one can spot them without getting crushed. Even when there is no consequence to sinking people are not going to push into certain death. Limit 2 shimmies per side like CVs. 1,045 dmckay Members 4,729 posts 8,265 battles Report post #7 Posted December 31, 2015 (edited) I only play tiers 1-5 but the DD's are proliferating and the BB's life is becoming hell. I don't play BB's. I would hate to have to play them. If it comes down to a couple of BB's and a couple or even 1 DD the BB's have a big problem. It seems to me that most BB drivers just cannot hit and kill DD's who have a good player in em. I played several games yesterday where DD's easily took out the last BB's in the match. I just started playing DD's and I have the Isokaze and I suck but I consider BB's the easiest kills in the game for my DD. But like I said I am only playing low tiers. 188 Zyu Beta Testers 715 posts 3,660 battles Report post #11 Posted December 31, 2015 Much smaller maps thrown into the mix - I'm talking New Dawn and Solomon Islands small - This will force short, bloody and brutal games. This will greatly please those who want to get in the and duke it out as well as punish those who like to camp the whole match & are afraid of getting their hands dirty or chipping their fingernail polish ship paint. The only way this would be feasible is if the repair costs were reduced at 9/10. I think the size of the maps are part of the problem as they promote "Have range, will use". Large/Huge maps are great for Clan wars or a game that has more organization than X# to 12 people randomly thrown onto a team together. I'd be all for getting small maps mixed into gameplay to shake things up, keep the meta from solidifying/becoming stale(like it is now) and keep people guessing when they hit that "BATTLE" button. 12,642 [SALVO] Crucis Members 28,245 posts 43,741 battles Report post #17 Posted December 31, 2015 Shatter is a horrible map and should be removed. Ocean >>>> Shatter. This is a pointless post. If you don't say why you think that Shatter is a horrible map, then honestly, why should I care what you've written. I think Shatter is a pretty good map. However, its spawns are much to close to the enemy's spawns which means that you don't realy have time to load your torps before encountering the enemy, quite often. Also, this map is only for battle tier 9 and above. But I see no reason at all why this map couldn't be just as good even as low as battle tiers 7 or 6, particularly since each team's spawns are so close to each other. Aside from the proximity of the spawns to the enemy, my only other gripe about this map is that the lay out of the islands seems so incredibly contrived. Just look at the large, long thin islands in the middle all pointing in towards the center of the map. It's just so contrived and unnatural feeling.

Ya Meh, I prefer larger maps that give one more room to maneuver, regardless of whether I'm playing a BB, a CA, or a DD. And for the record, I am one who fights and doesn't hide. OTOH, I'm not some fool who charges into short ranged brawls with ships that belong out at longer ranges sniping. So, quite honestly, I do NOT want to see smaller maps that try to force me to play stupidly just to appease a rather foolish and abnormal (for warships) play style. Destroyers are affected even moreso by teams camping at long range, as we don't get support. So tell me how my opinion is invalid? And I mostly play Tier 7+ games in CA which is supposed to be the poorest class... A few weeks ago, I even made a post somewhere regarding the camping teams in tier 7+ being a problem. Since the patch it's been much better. Not perfect, but I have yet to see entire teams form up into a ball and sit in the corner of the map since the patch, like I did before. 1,455 [FOXEH] DoomStomper Beta Testers 3,985 posts 2,373 battles Report post #22 Posted December 31, 2015 So it sounds like the supposed improvements to the economy haven't done much to liven up the overly conservative high tier meta? Personally never had to pay too much attention to credits since all of my games are on premium time (probably half of those in premium ships) and I haven't yet grinded past tier 7. Was hoping that over time these changes might help to make the community more aggressive as a whole as a result of a little less paranoia over ammo and repair costs. Can't really say I've had a problem with the economy either since patch. Hell, I made 150k profit on a loss in my Kigaro (with no credits flag) and it was just an average game for me. So, quite honestly, I do NOT want to see smaller maps that try to force me to play stupidly just to appease a rather foolish and abnormal (for warships) play style. How is it abnormal? I too get in there and fight. Just last game in my Yorck - Islands of Ice(and generally on Land of Fire depending upon spawn) I opted to go knife fighting in the scattered small islands. I took out a Myoko, Nagato and a random DD I forget which. I prefer close combat with my BBs too yet the "META" - which imo is utterly rubbish and as abnormal as it gets - is all about 16-18+ km engagements with anyone(singular) who attempts any type of push getting 1. punished by the enemy team and 2. abandoned by allies - EVEN IF a push was the best possible thing to do - people just like to play it as safe as possible. Then folks complain a CA is not doing their job hitting the DDs in the "Death Zone" between fleets. Sure have fun sailing into that area in a CA all the while lit up - or lit up when firing - by DDs. If fleets were to honest to goodness group up and push - ACCEPT they're going to take damage but not pussyfoot and falter the moment they get hit or see a ship or take a shell - engagements would be much more exciting than daintily sailing about. this is why having tasted T9/10 in CBT and sometimes getting put nto those matches with my 7/8's I am in no hurry to progress up the multiple trees I am climbing. Lower Tiers have brawls and exciting gameplay. What I see/have seen in the higher Tiers is just a bunch of people waiting for someone to go first and be a meat shield for them. Sorry your comment is dripping with obtuseness. This game is not meant to be played 99.9% at max ranges. The range is there for ships to begin firing at targets of opportunity AS THEY CLOSE IN RANGE. Thank god WG put objectives in...if it was 12vs12 deathmatch - zero objective but destruction - I bet no ship but a DD would ever be within 10km of another ship and only 5 ships avg would be destroyed per match. Boring. Hence the only solution is to mix in smaller maps. You get to play your way some of the time, others get to play theirs. "Force you..." 1 boots89 Members 41 posts 7,235 battles Report post #25 Posted December 31, 2015 I'm struggling with the Iowa with the new update big time. Iowa didn't turn well to begin with, now it's almost impossible to avoid anything. I even have both acquisition upgrades and rudder shift.
