If I sell the Emden ($1,125,000) I just won, do I get to keep the slot, or do I sell that too?

TIA

Nah you keep the slot, to me, the slot and the 1.2mil creds are worth more than that ship

Never sell a premium ship.  The training opportunity is worth WAY more than 1.2M credits.  You can train any same nation crew in it and level up with the premium in XP and credits/ match

You keep the slot, and be rid of a ship that you can't get back for an amount of credits that you can earn in like 1 or 2 hours of playing your favorite ship.

Wise words.  I can not agree more.

I agree if you're talking about the US or Japanese line. But the German line is SO limited that I never see myself owning more than 1 them.

I own the Tirpitz so I didn't mind selling mine, as its only tier 2. You have to remember though, the new German lines are coming eventually

More German ships will come.  Why shoot yourself in the foot?  With the 30% exp bonus from the permanent camo, mine tends to make decent exp even at T2.

My recommendation is to go look at the Albany code thread  and see how many people sold their Albany, then decided it was a mistake.  Emden is a much nicer T2 than the Albany is too.  If nothing else, it will hold an extra captain for you.

Bingo. A fully modulated Dresden is just as powerful.

-30% bonus to exp, -4% bonus to enemy accuracy, and ability to use any captain.

I meant what he's losing out on.  Should have been -30% exp, +4% to enemy accuracy and loses the ability to use any captain.

I had a fully modded out Dresden, with 170 kills in it and a Kapitan zur See.  I sold it because I now have an Emden, and I can put my kontre-admiral in from my Konigsberg with no penalty.

Dresden doesn't have a sick aftermarket fourth exhaust stack to make it go fasta.

Doesn't have that "no rust" look either lol

It goes fasta without it, Emden is a knot slower lol

That fourth stack is dead weight.  It's a false stack meant to confuse potential enemies from ID'ing it correctly, though that tactic is of absolutely no use whatsoever in a game with tags hovering over ships.

Another fun fact about the in-game Emden:  It's the only ship (I've seen so far) in the game that lacks bump-mapping textures.  It's as though it was rushed into the game unfinished.

Also, it's really pretty IMO. One of the best-looking ships in the game. Those lines, those 3+1 stacks, that color scheme ...

It's actually slower because IRL, the Dresden class were trial ships.  Dresden was fitted with turbines and four shafts, while Emden had reciprocating engines and only two shafts.  That difference is accurately modeled in game as well.  The Dresden and her turbines and four shafts was slightly faster than the Emden arrangement was, and she had better cruising distance as well.

In game, that knot of speed and 2 extra guns (that Dresden actually never carried) is the only difference...but is matched by Emden's perma camo.  Emden is modeled with the proper 10 guns.

Don't do something stupid like sell it tonight or tomorrow. If you wait until 1-1-16 then you have the full year to change your mind and have CS return it to you :sceptic: If you get rid of it tonight or tomorrow then when 1-1-16 rolls in you are done with it forever, and forever is a very LONG time.

Are you sure it's a calendar year and not a rolling year for the buyback?

As others said there will be more German lines, Eventually we will get a BB and DD line for sure and likely a fake carrier line at some point. Unless you are desperate for a port slot I would just hold onto it. The best thing about premium ships in my opinion is that you can put a captain on them that is being retrained and you get full use of the captain abilities. Then you play the premium till the retraining is done and then put it back on the correctly ship and never have to play a German ship again with out active captain skills.

Speaking of Commander Skills...

I have a T3 Wickes, and its Commander has mastered Survivability and Marksman. And he has 2 Undistributed Points.

If I buy the Clemson, and transfer the Wickes Commander to it, will those 2 Undistributed Points be usable for him on the Clemson?
