Emden Skin

The SMS Emden is one of my favorite WW1 ships given her exploits in the early months of the war.  I was excited to see her as the Christmas bonus and thrilled to see that she would be in her prewar color scheme as the “Swan of the East”.  I didn’t expect much in the way of combat capability, being T2 and sister ship to the Dresden.

 

I was, however disappointed by the 4^th funnel.  The Emden had a fake 4^th funnel during the war to fool allied observers.  It really has no place on the ship as it is depicted with her pre-war colors.

 

I would also have liked to have seen the fixed submerged torpedo tube on each side, it would be all but useless in the game but historically she sunk the Russian Armored Cruiser Zhemchug during her raid on Penang with torpedoes.

 

I’m sure it’s too much to ask but at the very least can the aft funnel be removed in an update?    Torpedoes would be nice to.

Sadly the devs have said no underwater torp tubes because hard to impliment (Emden's would be justified because of sinking a ship with them, though).  I don't know about the funnel.

You would figure one very limited traverse tube, but then again it might the the lauche animation.  I have hopes for the aft funnel though.

The white coat is very nice.  It's probably the CLEANEST ship in the WOWS fleet - perfect enough to allow a visiting lady friend to sail off into co-op land.

It's a keeper for that reason alone.  The dazzle patterns and rust-bucket haze grey colors are not very appealing to some.

In battle, the shiny white coat gets pretty ratty looking with a few HE hits on the side.
