ok have a weird issue when aiming zoomed in. if i aim at a target with another ship or land mass in between me, and the target the shot sometimes land well short of the target. i always shrug it off as some weird game mechanic or me doing something wrong. i have target tracking turned off too if anyone was gonna mention that. anyways jsut wondering if i'm alone on this or if anyone else has experienced this. thanks!

Yep can confirm that it happens to me as well....happens occasionally if another ship passes between the ship that is your target and the reticle.

Mostly happens with terrain...but it does happen...not a big issues in high DPM ships..but its very frustrating in a BB, due to long reload.

Sometimes it will target the landmass and cause you much pain, suffering, grief, strange looks from your neighbors(Oh my GOD they heard me last night they must think I'm crazy), broken <insert object/item of value>, your pet thinking they've done something wrong & many, many sighs.

I don't find this anywhere remotely as annoying as: Zooming out to a target 5km, 10km etc - Short to mid range - and having your "AIM" go UP & OUT as far as it can possibly go. Now add a spotter to the mix and good luck trying to quick shot(zoom shoot, unzoom look around repeat) when you can't aim at your very close target without dialing zoom back via scroll wheel.

Very very foolish.

Has been happening for quite some time, The game loose track of the ship you are tracking some how and your shots never make it to the target, or if you are ripple firing, half the shells hit the island short and the others fly over and hit the target.

I can confirm it happens to me as well.  Another thing I notice that really makes me mad is, I'll hold the right mouse button to free look around and when I return to scoped view,   it puts me 180 degrees away from my barrels.   I'm facing the wrong way from where I was aiming.  Does that ever happen to anyone else?

ok well then i know at least i'm not crazy! it does tend to be annoying like all my gunners are drunk or something. i never use target tracking, i enjoy rapid free camera movement. i dont have issues hitting my targets other than this bug i mentioned.

The games targeting system has a cooldown so if you fire at a target over an island, after a few seconds you will shoot the island.

Easy work around.

With the player targetted, zoom out. Zoom back into open water. Pan the mouse back over the target. Fire.  Depending on reload, rinse repeat.

I've had the same issue lately with a few different ships. It has only happened with an island in front of the target. After several incidents I ruled out the trajectory being the culprit as the decent angle was far too sharp to be cut off from hitting.

It's a very frustrating phenomenon. Not sure if it's patch related. I doubt they announce all the changes to avoid backlash when things don't go as planned as sometimes happen or things go exactly as planned.
