What is the purpose of the Co Op battles? I was playing the new gift ship, in Co op to get the reward. And later on I played a higher tier match and forgot to switch to Random match, Co op match was full, in fact I didn't notice til over. But what is purpose? You get less XP and creds, still it was kinda fun and I did play a couple more Co Op matches last night and team got slaughtered each time. Why do you play Co Op?

To learn a new ship and how it preforms / possibly get a ship non-stock before taking it out into random.

World of Warships is a PvP game at heart.

I see the Co-Op as a good way to learn your angles on your guns and torps, the turning ability of your ship and other things you want to know before battling on stat.

less [edited]from "elite" pvpers and more fun for me

+1, I love the Ranked battles. The random battles seem to be ups or downs for me. Far too dependent on team's content. In the ranked battles, the teams are more motivated and more evenly matched talentwise.

It's a place to calm down, and also a good place to practice new ships. For example, just got my Mogami today, going to learn to get used to the 155mm guns before doing a lot of PvP.

You gain less xp per match, but the matches are shorter, so that's no big deal. Credits are a problem.

The real reason PvE gamers play co op is for the relaxed atmosphere. You run into less trolls, and if you mess up, no one gets angry. Also, some enter co op to get past a ship they can't stand, or to research the first couple modules on a ship they like so they aren't bringing a stock ship into PvP. Sometimes, PvP gamers bring a new ship into co op just to try it out and get a feel for how it performs.

I tried the Emden out on PvE to check out the captain bonus and put it through its paces, the earnings and XP are negligible but its low stress silly fun.  There are quite a few little low tiers that are really cute but noncompetitive such as Emden and Albany, CoOp seems like a option to let them derp around and not tank your PvP stats.

To learn the game/to get away from toxic chat and practice a few mechanics of the game.

Besides all the practice and learning the ship, gunnery, mods, as mentioned, it is less stress, quick and fun.

I use it to test my connection/lag is working OK before serious battles, and definitely use it early in the AM before coffee to warm up and if I am sleepy and derp out, who cares?

It does not pay much, but as I play up to T6 (maybe T7 on occasion), a derping moment does not lose you money. T8+ is a problem as you can lose money if you are not careful.

Exactly. Not counting the really new people you sometimes encounter (ignorant is not the same as stupid - something many of the elitists don't seem to understand) I find it has more people just playing this like it's a *gasp* game. Definitely more fun.

I play co-op mostly for the fact its more laid back and relaxing than pvp. Sure, there are some moments that are heart pounding and awesome, but for the most part, its a nice relaxing setting to play in than pvp most times. :)

This is why I'm really glad WG added it for this game.

I like to move my captain up with each new ship, but I don't like to pay gold to retrain him fully. So I use co-op mainly as a way to train those captains. It takes a little while, but by the time I'm done my ship isn't fully stock anymore and I understand how it moves, etc.

1. To destroy the evil bot empire

2. To not play against the wargaming potato playerbase

The coop mode allows you to play a ship and not change your winrate in random.  Its a bit of a self-esteem mode because you should win a ton of games against the bots.  Also the main benefit is that you can LEARN how to play your ship before going into random or ranked battles.  PLEASE ....if you are new use this mode.

As for the Emden, you get 3X commander XP, so swap out a German Cruiser captain and level him up in Coop.

Less ships to shoot at, so in a full team of human players, it's hard to get lots of damage. Perhaps XP/CREDITS would be a little better if it were 12V12

I've done 150-180k dmg and avg around 65k, 4-7 tier. It's a break from the wargaming potato player community who has some odd issue with teamwork.

About a third of my battles are co-op. Here's why:

1. My friend whom I often division with prefers it.

2. It's a nice break if having a losing streak.

3. Sometimes, I just want a relaxing battle.

4. Some ships I enjoy playing but do terrible in PvP with them.

5. With a new ship, it can give me a head start getting out of stock.

6. I can get used to playing a new ship.

7. It's a quick way to get that last bit of experience needed for a ship.

The most chilling words I've heard twice now in random: "This is my first time playing a carrier, so don't expect much." THIS should be the number one reason for co-op!

Co-Op is FUN.  I don't get my rocks off being better than the next guy, so the competitive part of PvP is meaningless to me.  In Co-Op I can be utterly aggressive as I want.  It's FUN to steam in to a group of ships in my Marblehead, slinging torpedoes from point blank range into battleships on either side.

Also, there are less jacktards in there.

Its the play style for me.As a Battleship brawler I get to brawl in every game I play.Actually the only reason I started playing this game is because I heard it had a CoOp mode. But have not played as much as I have found a game with even better CoOp.They don't punish people for clicking the CoOp button.
