Just state any map you would want to see in game.  PLEASE don't discuss current maps!

My Ideas:

Halseys Typhoon.

Marianas Island Chain

Wake Island

Narvik

Full List of Others Suggestions:

Midway

Suriago Straight

battle of midway ohh wait that would be here allready, open sea, all the maps are so unrealistic becuase hardly any naval battles have happened close to islands. most happen around 500miles or 1000km offshore so there are no civilian casualties.

A Midway Map could be Ocean with two large flat islands.

the islands would be inrange in that case so it would not be realistic the battle of midway was fought 361 miles of shore if i am not mistaken or it was the other battle around there i can't remember the name i think you get the point though

These aren't supposed to be realistic battles, it would still be fun to fight around the Atoll.

for 1 naval commanders would never take a battle where islands or channels would restrict there movement also never run the risk of non compatants so it was always open warfare even while shelling beaches this was done from hundreds of miles away

Not exactly.  There were several naval actions within firing distance of land in WW2.  There is just more sea than there is land in the Pacific and North Atlantic.

Never? They would never take a battle near land where they would restrict movement? Never in a million years? Never?

The Battle of the Surigao Strait begs to differ. While it wasn't a success it shows that sometimes one must go up into the narrows and fight for their life. While most battles did happen far from land some happened very close to it. Most of those were not ideal i get that, but battles were certainly fought close to landmasses.

Also the average 16"/L50 naval gun has a range of ~23.5 miles. Making it impossible to shell a beach from "Hundreds of miles away".
