Anyone noticed anything different about Murmansk

I have been playing my Murmansk and feel like the ship isn't quiet like it was.  I can't absorb as many hits, my modules are constantly being blown out.  Just over all I feel a lot more fragile.  Did I miss something in the patch notes?

Its possible (likely) I am playing a little too reckless in her or that my RNG isn't in my favor.  But I feel like I used to be a lot more tanky.  Anyone else noticed anything?  Or is it just me?

Never show a broadside in a Murmansk or an Omaha.  The entire midsection and the superstructure to the fore and aft are all a big, juicy citadel.  You can fire a lot of guns pointing your ship just forward or backwards, so there's not really a need to expose your huge weakspot just to get a few extra guns on point.

Since 5.2, I feel like I've been dealing and receiving more damage. I've been trying to increase my situational awareness so that I don't find myself in a precarious position and maybe I can take advantage of my perceived increase in damage dealing and minimize the damage I take.

Murmy is an amazing ship... just don't show your broadside to anyone, especially if they are firing AP at you. I love when people in the Omaha or Murmy give it to me in my Konis, have had a few volley shots which gave me 5-7 citadels from it

Yeah, I love the ship.  Need  to readjust  my tactics.  Just wondering if anyone else noticed it was a little squishier.

Oh, it must be you... everyone else is clucking along just ducky. :)

 

It is possible the ships you fought against were buffed prior to the patch; in such a case, your ship would "feel" different but not actually have been touched.

murmansk  has always been squishy.    but it has good rudder and good firepower.     why it is stronk.

Last major patch, it seems that they redid how modules are damaged, so some ships have increased module damage in some cases, that might be what you are seeing.

IMO it seems to have to do with another AP/HE slight rework, and so now some specific cases are slightly different (angle/location.etc.).

I played five games with the Murmanks today and I had my rudder/engine damaged 4 different times in those matches. It was a pretty rare occurrence prior to 0.5.2.1 so I am not sure if I should get my tinfoil hat but it feels more fragile in terms of module damage.

I have noticed an increase to the module damage several of my ships are now taking. Getting your engine knocked out in a cruiser or a destroy isn't any thing new but seeing it happen so much in a short span of time is. I had the engine knocked out of my Kiev, repaired, knocked out again then it was knocked out three more times and this was over the span of 20 seconds. I know the ships I drive don't have much armor but I've been driving them enough to know when something has changed.

I've said that with other ships and other WG games so be prepared for the defenders to jump in there with both feet, stomp on you and say "where's the numbers?" Replays? Proof? Feeling or knowing blah blah blah...

 

I too have noticed the Murmansk plays slightly different, so it seems, but I've been playing a whole lot of Konigsberg... and account it to going back to the M ... so it feels "different".

Though I 'feel' the effect in the Mur, I do not have solid numbers for it.  The most obvious one I thought was the Nagato, pre 5.2 I had never seen my rudder get knocked out, post 5.2 I had lost it 6 times in one battle and 5 times in the next, followed by 2 times in the 3rd battle (as I learned to protect it more).

This was a substantial change so I noticed that the locations of AP damage for modules had seemed to shift slightly over the next few games from my AP attacks and two of my other ships seemed to have reduced module chances.

I suspect there was some sort of new stealth modification to how the armor works again.

Could be any number of reasons I suppose... I do recall on WoT after one patch, nearly everybody's turret was getting blown off due to ammo racks... after a week or two of this... it settled down and went back to what it had been pre-patch... probably same thing can happen here too... I'm sure things get tweaked server-side without us ever hearing about it.

It's probably not a nerf to the Murmansk, but more likely a buff to other things. I wouldn't think they would nerf a premium ship.

It could be just a run of bad luck.  I have games in my Murmansk where I seem to be totally untouchable despite being up in the middle of everything, and I have games where no matter what I do every enemy shot seems to connect and knock something out. 

 

It could also be a playstyle thing? Are you aggressive and trying to make torpedo runs?  ZIgzagging and having max-range exchanges with enemy ships?  Doing the Circle of Death in an open area?

 

Personally, I haven't noticed any real change to the gameplay overall, be it the Murmansk or any other CL.
