Hi all, I haven't made a proper introduction and since I wanted to brag about my best ever game...

So, I'm a huge wargamer from way back. I grew up playing Avalon Hill wargames. Been doing it ever since. Honestly, I've never been much a historical gamer. But this seemed like a fun game, so I thought I would give it a shot.

If you are familiar with my screen name, I like Steve Jackson Games (Ogre specifically). If you're not, please let me introduce you to it.

In the real world, I'm a science content specialist for an education publisher. Feel free to ask questions about science, education, and assessments.

I've been playing WoWs for about two weeks now and just finished my best game ever. I played an Isokaze. Ended up with 3 kills, 7 torpedo hits, a base capture, 2 fires, 1 incapacitation, 1 Devestating Strike (on a Phoenix!) and 4,446 XP (with first day 3x bonus). Woo Hoo.

It was pretty neat. I was first to the southern base in the Solomon Islands map. I just circled inside the base and fired torps out of a cloud of smoke until all the bad guys ran away (1st kill). Then I ran up the west edge of the map. The bad guys forgot all about me to deal with an incursion in the slot. The phoenix noticed me and I took him out with torps. Then I kept going right up the west edge until I found a Bogue and killed it with a mix of torps and cannons. The game ended before I could catch the last BB and carrier.
What fun.
