So...about Yubari cruiser

Been AFK from the game for sometime now and just got back, want to know if any changes been made on the Yubari cruiser? Is it any good now or still bad

I like my Yubari and usually do "ok" in it! It suffers like all the other IJN ships I play with other ships "looking" at it and bursting into flames! Also the rudder/engine dies just about every hit! I'd have thought that those modules should be a little harder to damage due to being under the water line. Just my $0.02

The firepower is manageable, just the durability is complete trash which makes it more of an exp pinata.

The Yubari still has its issues, but it's not awful, perse.  It's certainly underpowered -- perhaps holding that niche spot that Wargaming so often strives for but misses often enough to be noticeable:  not-quite as good as a normal ship.  Now this said, Cruisers at tier 4 are a bit of a mixed bag.  We have the overwhelmingly acclaimed Kuma and the universally abhorred Karlsruhe both within this tier.

 

Imperial evidence aside, the Yubari still feels like she needs some love.  Nothing has changed with her, really, since Open Beta.  She still has an enormous citadel.  She still has only the two turrets.  She still lacks any form of armour.  They did give her access to the anti-aircraft defensive fire consumable which is nice.  At her tier she can do some damage to incoming attack craft so it's possible to use her as a fleet escort role.  But at that tier, short of seeing an Imperator Nikolai I or an Arkansas Beta, it's hard to know which Battleship would be worthwhile escorting.

After the recent Karlsruhe buffs I would say it is the worst T4 Cruiser. Bad torp angles, only two twin guns which are crap, low hp, few planes, huge crowd citadel... Honestly it maybe the worst T4 overall. I still haven't played the T4 Russian DD. If that's anything but irrevocably bad then Yubari is the worst T4 IMO. Hell, I would take the Tenryu over it.

Out of all the tier IV ships, I think the Yuubari is the worst. She's fun when enemy carriers fly planes within your reach, but the second shells start flying your way, you are not going to have a very long existence.  It's largely because her armour is so poor, she's got very low health, and her citadel is just as easy if not easier to hit than a Kuma's.

Oh wow. Been awhile I didn't remember. Poor Yubari though... Still trash IMO. Can do well with a good captain, but a good captain will do better in other ships.

Not as bad as it was before, yet still underwhelming if you train it for early AA. Otherwise the new improvments  makes her survivable (if you apply the same tactics used to play A Penny vs Tier 8 BBs) which, for a premium ship is below par.

Yubari anti air is now terrible, worse than Arkansas beta. All carriers please hover their planes over my Yubari.

 

More seriously Yubari still has problems. I've had some ridiculous games with her but overall she's only good for trolling Hosho players.

Her armor is trash. Every Yubari I've met in the past month in my battleships I have one shotted from 75-100% hp.

I mean, she's not my go-to choice but I wouldn't kick 'er out of bed for eatin' crackers

It is...THE SINGLE WORST SHIP in the game.   I think i would rather run a tier 2 or 3 cruiser over the Yubari at tier 4.    

 

One of the people above wasn't lying.   literally every shot, and at best, every other shot, will take out engine or rudder (even with module to strengthen it).  the only way around this is to take the tier 4 captain skill that allows you to still maintain function of the rudder/engine if dmg'd.

 

the AA, is still horrible.   It takes hits like a fine china store, after a grenade tossed into said store.  

 

i can't even stress, how bad this ship is.     I suspect the numbers being what they are above, is because nobody has probably played it, in months upon months.  I dont think i've touched mine in about 8 months, no joke.

 

complete and utter garbage ship.  hope that helps =) lol

 

p.s. i'm not bitter about this wreck that i spent 40 something dollars on, being the single worst use of 40 dollars in my life.

She is still decent but underwhelming to me. 

The guns are solid and accurate, but there are not many of them. Easily outclassed by the other tier 4s.

The Torpedoes are lacklustre, too short range to do a lot really, and too restrictive. Again inferior to the other tier 4 cruisers. 

The AA is also quite disappointing, 1 fire of the ability is not enough really...

 

And yet I still like the ship. I guess it's the really nice guns, but it can't compete when fired at by anything really.
