Intentionally damaging vehicles belonging to a player on the same team (team damage).   4.02. Intentionally destroying vehicles belonging to a player on the same team (team kill).   4.03. Intentionally blocking (blocking from front and rear) vehicles belonging to a player on the same team.   4.04. Intentionally propping (blocking on one side, where the other side of a user's vehicle touches a fixed indestructible obstacle, preventing free movement.) vehicles belonging to a player on the same team.   4.05. Intentionally informing participants of the opposing team through battle, or voice chat, the location of vehicles belonging to players of the same team.   4.06. Using bots, clickers, macros, keyboard and mouse recorders, or any other similar methods to accumulate credits and experience without the participation or with passive participation of the player within the battle. (Excessive and repetitive passive play)   5. Rules Enforcement   The "Automated Anti-TD/TK Reporting System" is the system that actively scans the game logs searching for players who massively cause damage to vehicles of their own team (team damage), or intentionally destroy vehicles of their teammates (team kill).   Please note that the Automated Anti-TD/TK Reporting System is not available in certain Games, for instance, World of Tanks Blitz, World of Warplanes and World of Warships. In such cases, please contact us through https://na.wargaming.net/support/.   5.01. Based on combat logs for a particular period of time, usually several days, the automated system finds players involved in friendly fire and team kill incidents. The calculations are quite complicated and the main factor that is taken into account is damage inflicted to allies to total damage ratio.   5.02. If the above ratio for a particular user exceeds a certain fixed threshold value, the system identifies the user as a violator, since his main target is doing damage to allied vehicles.   5.03. If the damage ratio for such user exceeds the verifying coefficient, introduced in order to make distinction between intentional and accidental team killers, such user is identified as an offender and goes onto the suspension list.   5.04. While calculating damage to allies / total damage ratio only the battles with team kill/damage incidents are taken into account.   5.05. In connection with the introduction of Automated Anti-TK Reporting System), listed below are set uniform measures that can be taken against offenders:*. First detection of a user as a team killer and team-damager leads to 1 hour game account suspension.*. Second detection of a user as a team killer and team-damager (recidivism) leads to 1 day game account suspension.*. Multiple detections of a user as a team killer and team-damager (systemic recidivism) will resort in escalating suspensions leading to a PERMANENT game account suspension. The "Automated Anti-Bot Reporting System" is the system that actively scans the game logs searching for players who use automated bots, clickers, macros, keyboard and mouse recorders, or any other similar methods to accumulate credits and experience without the participation or with passive participation of the player.   5.06. In the case of detection of single or short-term signs of use of automated scripts (bot software) in user’s logs, user’s account is taken under thorough control by the administration. The owner of the account can be informed by special notifications sent to the registered e-mail.   5.07. In case of detection of signs of massive or overt use of automated scripts or botting software in user’s logs, the user’s account is suspended permanently, with a possibility of suspension being lifted in the future, after the administration conducts a complete rollback of vehicles, achievements, funds (credits) and research except premium tanks, premium consumables, premium shells and gold.   5.08. Automated Anti-Bot Reporting System is not meant to substitute the Technical Support service, the system aims at making their work easier. The most difficult cases thereby will be solved individually via Technical Support service.   6. Reporting in-game violations In certain Games you will be able to use the Automated Anti-TK Reporting System. In this case, an automated system of violations tracking (team damage, team kill) will operate and the administration draws your attention to the following information - with the introduction of this system, users’ complaints about the above mentioned violations will not be considered. From now on all punishments for team damage and team kill incidents will be executed automatically without support service workers' interference. The system has been customized, tested multiple times and currently works correctly. We also draw your attention to the fact that a multitude of all possible circumstances accompanying different violations (including extenuating and aggravating ones) has been taken into consideration. All requests relating to ban cancellation or minimizing the punishment period, laid by the system, will be ignored. Additional information on the automated system of team killers and bot users tracking you will find on this page: Automated Anti-TK Reporting System   7. Official Language   7.01. General chat: The preferred language of the In Game Garage Chat & Company lobby (or General Chat in World of Tanks Blitz)  is any of our supported languages (English, Spanish, and Portuguese). Players who wish to communicate in their native language are urged to do so in channels created specifically for their language.   7.02. In Game Battles and other In Game Chats: The preferred language is English, however non-English is allowed. Please be patient with players whose first language may not be your own. Please note that chat channels are not available in World of Tanks Blitz.   8. Important/Miscellaneous 8.01. Repeated violations any area of these Rules or the EULA, including the areas detailed above, will often result in permanent suspension from the game and/or forums. 8.02. Premium Ship Review - ORP Blyskawica

  • You need to play a total of 10 battles to post in this section.

88 posts in this topic

The following is aimed at new(ish) players looking to find a little more information about various ships from events, for premium currency or for real-world cash.  The goal is to allow players to make an educated decision before parting with their time and money and to find premium vessels that suit their chosen style of play, whether that is competitive, cooperative, or simply for fun.  The idea here is to elabourate on information not commonly available through reading statistics and provide some (heavily) biased anecdotal evidence to encourage or dissuade you from making your purchase.  The usual disclaimers apply:  everyone knows the Matchmaker clearly loves me because I spend money so that's why I occasionally get really good games, not because I have any particular skills of note.

The Polish Navy Grom-class Destroyer

ORP Blyskawica

"The Defiant."

Quick Summary:   The first Polish vessel in the game with a good mix of good guns, decent torpedoes and respectable top speed.  Very favourably compared to the Kiev.

Cost:  The Blyskawica was sold in bundles starting at $32.99 USD with 1000 doubloons and 1 week of premium time.  Sale began on Christmas Day 2015 and lasted for 10 days.  This sale was repeated for 48 hours in early April 2016.

PROs

  • Heavy gun load-out of seven 120mm (4.5 inch) guns in four turrets.
  • Good range at 12km stock, which can upgrade to 14.4km.
  • Able to shoot from concealment, even in stock configuration (!).
  • Good chance of fire per shot at 8% per HE round.
  • Fast at 39 knots.
  • Can launch torpedoes from concealment with 8.0km range.
  • Largest hit point pool of any Tier 7 Destroyer at 15,500hp.

CONs

  • Guns have a slow rate of fire for a Destroyer at 9.2rpm.
  • Slowish turret rotation at 10' per second
  • Rather large surface detection range of 7.7km stock.
  • Torpedoes are slow at 57 knots.
  • Large turning circle for a Destroyer at 610m and 5.8s rudder shift.
  • Terrible AA armament.
  • No other Polish ships in the game and no immediate plans to add any others.  This limits the ability of this ship to be used as a training vessel.

Just in time for New Year's, the Blyskawica arrives in North America.

The Full Review

It took a long time for the North American server to get the Blyskawica.  The hype surrounding this vessel began well before her release and players on our server waited in frustration to get a chance to buy her.  Excitement only built as we found out she had to be bumped up a tier, from tier 6 to tier 7 to compensate for her power level.  After weeks of waiting, she finally became available on Christmas Day, 2015.  With the gates open, many were purchased right from the onset.  What did people get for their money?

6r3bzr.jpg

Providing forward vision for her team, the Blyskawica has the ability to fire her primary armament from concealment right out the gates.  Here she engages an enemy Nurnberg in advance of her team,  unspotted while she ripple fires her 120mm rifles at 11.8km.

Primary Armament

Even on the surface, the Blyskawica appears to be a powerful gunship.  She sports seven 120mm (4.5 inch) guns mounted in four turrets.  A single gun turret is mounted on the bow with a paired gun turret superfiring over that.  The last four guns are in two superfiring turrets to the rear of the ship, giving her excellent fields of fire both forward and aft.  She boasts a good gun range like the Sims and Kiev.  Unlike the Kiev, though, this 12km range is outside of her surface detection range even while firing, giving the Blyskawica the ability to fire from concealment, even without a fully trained Captain at her helm.  This stealth zone is small -- a mere 300m initially, but with additional skills, this opens up to 2.7km.

In terms of gun performance, the Blyskawica is very comfortable.  Though her turret rotation isn't initially fast (18 seconds for 180' traverse), it can be improved down to 14.4s for 180' with Captain Skills which is manageable.  More importantly, her shell flight time isn't punitive like in US Destroyers with their 127mm / 38 dual purpose turrets.  At 8.62s to 12km, this makes long range sniping from concealment quite feasible, especially when targeting slower battleships.  This is compounded by an excellent (for a destroyer) chance of fire for each landing strike at 8% per shell.  This makes the threat of the unchecked firepower of the Blyskawica something to be feared, even by capital ships and it's not uncommon to see them maneuvering to evade the zone of control of this stealth-firing vessel.

The first downside to her firepower would be her rather slow rate of fire at 9.2 rounds per minute.  This isn't as bad as the IJN, with the Hatsuharu suffering a mere 6.7rpm, but it's far behind the US and Soviet destroyers which have as much as 15 to 18rpm.  This puts the Blyskawica at a disadvantage in close range knife fights where her DPM lags behind these vessels.  The second would be the rather poor hitting power of individual shells, with only 1700 alpha strike from her HE and 2200 from her AP.  This puts her more or less on par with US Destroyers, but straddling the line between the Soviet AP & HE statistics.

Secondary Armament

The torpedo armament for the Blyskawica is a bit of a mixed bag.  Their primary strength is their 8km range, which allows the Blyskawica to launch them from concealment and ambush her targets.  This is about where the good news ends, however.

The first drawback is that her torpedo armament is light.  With only two triple launching tubes, this lags well behind the eight-torpedo spread of the Sims, the ten of the Kiev and twelve of the Mahan.  While the Hatsuharu may have only six torpedoes herself like the Blyskawica, her torpedoes strike hit 20% harder than the Polish Destroyer.  Only the American torpedoes have a smaller warhead, but they make up for that with quantity over quality.  At 14,400 damage per hit, the Blyskawica's torpedoes are on the low-end for damage.  Still, this gives her a maximum strike of 86,400 which cannot be dismissed lightly if she can manage to sink all six of them into an unwary target.

Doing so though, is difficult.  At 57 knots, her torpedoes are some of the slowest of her tier, with only the Sims and Mahan's long-range torpedoes being slower.  This may encourage Blyskawica captains to risk getting danger close to ensure their fish strike home lest their target pull even minor maneuvers to manage an evade.

23kaqn4.jpg

The 14,400 alpha strike of the Blyskawica's torpedoes is rather modest for her tier, but still more than enough to break the back of this IJN Destroyer in a single hit.

Maneuverability

The Blyskawica is fast at 39.0knots, besting out the Sims and running on par with the Minekaze.  This puts her tied for fourth fastest destroyer within her Matchmaking spread, behind only the Soviet DDs Kiev, Tashkent and Udaloi.  This is excellent news for players looking to kite enemies and fire from stealth, being able to keep even fleet footed cruisers at reasonable arms length and control the engagements.  This flexibility will also allow her to redeploy to opposite sides of the map should she be needed in a reasonable amount of time.

She doesn't have it all her own way, though.  She has a rather slow (for a Destroyer) rudder shift time of 5.8s and a largish turning circle of 610m.  For a Destroyer, this is more akin to light cruiser levels of agility, such as the Omaha.  This again puts her at a disadvantage in close range knife fights with enemy Destroyers when evasion becomes paramount when torpedoes are incoming.  In short, though fast, the Blyskawica feels a bit cumbersome to sail.  She is not a nimble little girl.

2jchd9d.jpg

Though faster than this US Cleveland, the Blyskawica shares much more in common with her maneuverability than she does with US Destroyers.

Durability & Defense

Part of the reason for the Blyskawica's lack of daintiness comes from her sheer size.  She has 15,500 hit points -- more than any other tier 7 destroyer and most tier 8s.  This extra survivability gives her the opportunity to bully some of her higher DPM destroyers when the fights get in good and close, but it should be noted this is still well within the one-shot range of torpedo hits from the Hatsuharu or Kiev.  This does not give her any extra protection in terms of armour or module layout.  Like all destroyers, she is dangerously vulnerable to critical hits and they stack up with alarming rapidity even from near-misses from large caliber weapons.

I must say that I am somewhat disappointed with her AA armament, which is the worst of all of the tier 7 Destroyers.  It's best just to leave it disabled when a match begins.

Her standard Premium Camouflage provides -3% surface detectibility (bringing it down to 7.5km base), -4% to incoming shell accuracy and 50% bonus experience.

How to Kill It

The biggest exploitable weakness of the Blyskawica is it's stock large surface detection range of 7,7km.  Even with its premium camouflage, this only goes down to 7.5km so it's very easy for enemy destroyers, including the sizeable US Destroyers, to sneak up on her unawares.  Only the Soviet Destroyers are less stealthy.  Once she's spotted, priority should be made to disable and sink her as soon as possible, as should be done with any spotted DD.

  • Destroyers should be aware of their advantages over the Blyskawica when they engage her.  IJN and US DDs should spot her before being spotted in return.  US Destroyers and Soviet Destroyers have the advantage of DPM over the Blyskawica, which relies on numerous gun turrets to pad her numbers as opposed to rate of fire.  The loss of individual turrets hurts the Blyskawica considerably.  US Destroyers should keep the pressure on with their 5 inch guns and not let up.  In addition, keep in mind that while maneuverable, she's not as fleet footed as other destoyers and she may struggle to dodge sudden torpedo strikes.

  • Cruisers should make shooting at spotted Blyskawica a priority.  She's tough for a DD with a large HP pool for her tier.  Left untouched she will begin stacking fire criticals on all surrounding vessels very quickly and causing quite a bit of disruption.  Try and keep the engagement at about 10km.  This will prevent her from being able to fire from stealth or dodge return fire effectively.  This also keeps you safely outside of her torpedo range. Never let the engagement extend out beyond 12km or within 9km.  The former increases the likelihood she will return to concealment and the latter opens up the possibility of torpedo attacks.

  • Battleships should be very wary of any area in which a Blyskawica is operating if they do not have an escort.  She can comfortably sit at 12km and make it rain 120mm projectiles until you're burning from stem to stern and then do it all over again.  Unlike US Destroyers, shots coming in from that range don't arc nearly as much so the accuracy will add up quickly.  If she ends up close, be wary of her torpedoes.  Individually they strike for a modest 14,400 damage.  Do consider it can be worth taking a hit from one of them to guarantee a kill on this pesky DD.

  • Carriers should use standard anti-destroyer tactics.  The larger turning circle of the Blyskawica makes her more of an easy target for your torpedo planes.  Her anti-aircraft ability is poor so you don't need to worry too much about losing planes to her guns except over a prolonged period.

jijpn6.jpg

A point blank drop of torpedoes shatters this distracted Nurnberg-class Cruiser.  Cruisers looking to sink her should ensure they stay outside of her torpedo range, just in case.

Overall Impressions

The Blyskawica is very much like the Gremyashchy.  She looks unassuming when you consider her stats individually but she becomes monstrous when they're all combined into a single package.  Great speed, great range and just enough stealth combine to make her a sneaky, fire breathing monster, able to make the lives miserable of any enemy ships in the vicinity.  The balancing flaws she does have are only a minor annoyance at most and keep her from being the paramount of tier 7, though after the nerfs in 5.2 of the Kiev, she may take the crown and is already being favourably compared to what the Kiev used to be.

Still, she doesn't have everything her own way.  Though she may be able to bully IJN Destroyers she finds, she's much more adept at picking on larger capital ships.  Enemy destroyers are certainly a threat to her, particularly the high DPM US Destroyers once fights get into close range.  I would be very curious to see how the Blyskawica holds up in a competitive environment like Ranked Battles.  I suspect she may soon become a fan favourite.

Would I recommend?  For destroyer enthusiasts?  Absolutely.  She straddles the line between Soviet and US Destroyers, with good (but not great) guns and modest torpedoes.  You don't suffer the enormous surface detection ranges of the Soviets nor the Rainbow Arcs of the American Destroyer gunnery.  She's certainly not a stealthy predator like the IJN Destroyers, but she has the versatility that they lack.  I suspect she may be regularly compared to the Gremyashchy in terms of ability for her tier and I can't sing the praises of that particular destroyer enough.

Do note though, she is the only Polish ship in the game and likely to remain so for a long time, if not indefinitely.  This limits her use as a trainer so that's one hit against buying this Premium.  So you have to love collecting ships, love playing destroyers and/or want a mid-to-high tier ship to grind credits with to make this a worthwhile purchase.

Recommended Modules:

The Blyskawica takes a pretty standard loadout for gunboat destroyers.

  • For the first slot, Main Battery Modification 1 is the only one worth while.  The reduced chance of being detonated is all too important for Destroyers.
  • I would equip Gun Fire Control System 1 to increase accuracy at range.
  • For the third slot, Propulsion Modification 1 has the most value.  It's imperative a Destroyer keep moving.  Speed is life.
  • Equip Steering Gear Modification 2.  This will reduce your rudder shift down to 4.6s

Recommended Captain Skills:

Unlike with many other Nations in World of Warships, the Blyskawica is the only ship available.  This means you will be running a Captain dedicated to her and her skills will always reflect this.

  • For Tier 1, the first skill must be Situational Awareness.  Knowing when you're lit or not is life and death in a Destroyer.  Basic Fire Training is also highly desirable, increasing your rate of fire from 9.2rpm to 10.1rpm.
  • Tier 2 has become a bit of a cluttered tier with a lot of nice skills to consider.  Last Stand is just too good for most Destroyer captains to pass up and i would recommend it for the first skill you grab.  Expert Marksman is nice for speeding up your turret rotation, but it's not paramount.  Torpedo Armament Expertise would also be nice to have, to accelerate your reload.
  • For tier 3,Superintendent is the most valuable, giving you a third charge of smoke and speed boost.
  • For tier 4, Advanced Fire Training will increase the range of your guns to 14.4km.  Demolition is also very desirable as it increases the already considerable fire chance up into the double digits.
  • For tier 5, Concealment Expert is useful, dropping her surface detection range down to 6.8km with her premium camouflage.

I've always enjoyed the effort put into these ship reviews. The only request I could ever ask for is for more real life information (Especially on the guns)

Like on the Blyskawica's guns:

HE pack, muzzle velocity, IRL range...I prefer you use Navweaps when doing so.

These reviews are as enjoyable to read as any Jane's, with the added bonus of an incredibly distracting avi. :look:  I especially like the screenshots.  Thanks for all your effort.

With all these new DDs running around I'm tempted to finally grab the Atlanta, especially at the discount.

Hmn, not taking last stand might seem good on paper but irl, as soon as you get in a 6 kms fight with a Mahan or Benson, you're as good as dead, you're not fast enough to escape nor can you surpasses the US DD at that range, lose engine 2 times and be ready to get burn down and since US DD have better camo, that will happen alot. In a scenario where you do not have to worry about being stalk by US DD, that's when Demo or Aft going to shine, but still, it is too unreliable and situational. I'd still take last stand first before demo or Aft. Speaking personally from experience here, fought about 4-5 in my Benson since yesterday.

Well, I personally find it to be a USN DD at heart. It is extremely versatile in the fact that it can stealth fire and stealth torp, however that's not all the similarities with USN. The arc can get abit high at longer range, albeit far better than USN satellite rounds.

It's maneuverability is also great, with the 610m radius being the same as the much slower Fletcher and Gearing, and the slightly slower Sims. The rudder shift can be brought down to stock USN times in the 4.5 second area.

The Torpedoes can stealth fire, but only barely. I think it's about 100-200m of safe room, yet if they're heading away, you cannot stealth torp them.

The guns are great, but no where near VMF levels. The dmg and arc are similar to the USN 5"/38 guns, but with much better velocity.

I personally find this ship to be a pre arc nerf USN DD.

That's my short take on the Bliss-cah-weach-ah.

Also some things to note LWM:

You cannot say that Mahan has 12 torps, while this is true, you can only fire 8 in a salvo due to the third launcher's placement. Unless you want to turn around (NOT RECOMMENDED) to take an extra swing (that will miss, as the target is already turning and can easily dodge them). It can be misleading to newer players, or makes them think you should fire all 12 at one enemy.

For future reference, can you please state the safe zone for torpedoes? I've noticed you gave us the tools to figure it out ourselves, but some people don't try to figure it out and hear "Stealth Torping Abilities" without realizing how difficult the safe zone size makes stealth torping.

Due to the microscopic difference in detection range between the Blys. and all the USN DDs it is able to face, the Blyskawica is not actually in an advantageous or disadvantageous position. As soon as it's detected, it is 99% likely that it will detect the USN DD as well; and vice versa.

Thoughts LWM?

Saw in another thread where you'd gifted the Blys to LWM. Good for you mate. When I was in the Navy, we always tried to "take care of our own", good to see there's still people in the world that think of others. What I've seen of LWM on the forums, she certainly deserves a "thank you" from the community.

Hmmmm, how would you say the guns compare against the stock 5 inch/51's on the Nicholas? From memory, I'm thinking with captains skills, both those, and the guns on the Blys, end up with the same ROF and turret traverse.

Well..... I honestly can't say... I shamelessly free exp'd past the Nicholas in both beta and release.....

Actually I played a few games in it back in April, huh. Look at that, thought I purely skipped it to the Farragut.

Ah well, no problem, I'll be finding out for myself shortly.:)

Those guns were a good part of the reason I decided to try out the USN DD line a while back. I was checking out the stats on each one up thru Tier 6, and when I saw that the stock guns on the Nicholas were listed as "127mm/51 Mk 7", that clinched the deal. Check out navweaps, those guns were purpose-made high velocity anti-ship weapons, originally as the secondary battery on USN BB's expressly for killing DD's - they're the secondary battery in game for all USN BB's from Wyoming up thru Colorado. IRL, something like 3200 fps, navweaps website says that "the Navy was quite proud of the performance and accuracy of these guns". They gained their place in history at Wake Island in WW2 - there was a battery of these set up as coast artillery - when the Japanese first attacked the island, one gun literally blew an IJN DD out of the water with only 3 rounds, hitting it's magazine - and the rest of the battery severely mauled several other ships.

The way they modeled the velocity and shell arc of these guns in game, at least before they started monkeying around with the Nicholas tech tree, was fairly accurate - compared to a 5"/38, you could drive nails with those guns - they were every bit as good as the guns on the Grem, as far as shell arc, velocity, and accuracy. Some people purposely ran the stock hull 24/7 on the Nicholas, just so they could have all 5 of those guns on board - or like myself, ran the upgraded hull, upgraded torps, and stock guns - it could be quite the little Tier 5 monster - no wonder WG nerfed it and changed the tech tree on it.

When I first watched reviews of the Blys, I noticed the shell arc and velocity of those guns and how they performed, and started thinking to myself "that looks like a 7 gun Nicholas or Grem.... oh heck yes, I WANT one of those!"

High Explosive Shell Flight Time in Seconds to Specific Ranges, per Destroyer.

As shown here, the flight time of the Blyskawica's guns compare closest to the IJN 127mm guns but with better performance.  At max stock range, she's within 1 second of the performance of the 130mm of the Soviets though this disparity only increases at greater ranges up to her maximum of 14km.

In response to KmsH44

1.) You cannot say that Mahan has 12 torps, while this is true, you can only fire 8 in a salvo due to the third launcher's placement.

I can and did!  Muahahaha!  :playing:

Alright, seriously now.  I'm well aware the Mahan has an 4 + 4 + 4 torpedo layout (port, starboard, dorsal).  My own experiences with her are never to fire the 8 then swing around for the 4, but rather to fire the 4 to make my enemies commit to a turn and then hit them with the 8.  Having three launchers is a huge advantage with the Mahan, and it's very easy with the American agility to make use of all twelve against long range targets while still keeping out of detection range.

2.) For future reference, can you please state the safe zone for torpedoes?

I certainly can.  I've been tempted to write a form of stats page for key features that aren't listed without doing math (DPM, Stealth window for firing guns, Stealth window for firing torps, etc) but making tables and charts is really bothersome on a forum format.  I'd prefer to do this as a graphic showing key features, but I need to get my drawing tablet working before I'll do this comfortably.  Like the Warspite review, I will be taking a second pass at these as the patches roll out to keep them relevant.  The Atlanta, for example, is becoming woefully out of date and needs a face-lift. I can try and glue in some of that too.

3.) Due to the microscopic difference in detection range between the Blys. and all the USN DDs it is able to face, the Blyskawica is not actually in an advantageous or disadvantageous position. As soon as it's detected, it is 99% likely that it will detect the USN DD as well; and vice versa.

It depends on the US Destroyer and the Captain, obviously, though you're not entirely wrong.  Even with camouflage, the Sims is visible from 7.3km, the Mahan from 7.7km.  The Farragut is downright stealthy at 7.1km and the Nicholas even more so at 6.5km.  The higher tier USN DDs come in at 7.2km each.  This is a window of 200m to 300m typically (and up to 1km for the Nicholas) with only the Mahan being the fat cow that will be spotted long beforehand.  All of these ranges become moot the moment people start opening fire of course.

This is, however, a marked disadvantage of being seen first.  The ship that spots the other first has a precious few moments of reaction time -- even if they can't avoid being spotted themselves.  This can be enough to line their guns up on target and be ready to pull the trigger if not send a volley already on the way.  With the higher DPM of most of the USN Destroyers, this can guarantee a huge lead on what might otherwise be a close knife fight.  Even the Nicholas can put out 108,000dpm to the 109,480 of the Blyskawica, so that first volley can make all of the difference.

Well, went ahead and picked up the Blys. Stuck on the appropriate upgrade modules, and took her out for the first run in a co-op battle.

First game, helped trash an Omaha with the guns, then planted 6 torps into a full health New York.

She'll do. :)
