How often do people ram?

I am just wondering how often people go out and ram others?

 

I am still new to the game but I am finding that ramming is starting to get addictive. Nothing seems to be more satisfying  when you know you are going to die then taking down the person by ramming who has pretty well killed you already. It's a cheap revenge I know but it does feel good.

Ramming when you are about to die is a very good tactic. Don't hesitate to use it.

I did it the other day in my North Carolina. I was surrounded, so I turned for the largest ship and went full speed ahead.

I ran down a destroyer in my Miyagi once, just bowled him over broadside and kept going.

 

The opportunity doesn't come up often though.

I ram if I know my team would be better served if I take the opposing ship with me, or if I'm about to die anyway.

Every chance I get where i probably won't survive the close encounter anyway.

When you know you're gonna die, it's a nice way to do some more damage.

The first time was by accident, I was zoomed in on another ship - and suddenly I got a ribbon for causing flooding and then a kill. My ship survived!

I also got the badge and flags.

I managed a ram with a Carrier, and the carrier survived!, my first was ramming a DD with a Cleveland in a narrow channel, he had nowhere to go haha!!

I've gotten about 2 ram kills over the course of my play-time so far.

 

One was a Wickes ramming my Kongou (free Die Hard medal). And another was me ramming a New Mexico with my Kongou (kamikaze attack, I had 1k HP, he had about 40k remaining).

Only when I have no choice or I am going to die anyway. I actually rammed a guy once because I was trying to avoid the other ship on the enemy team that was coming in for a ram only to have a dead player on my team tell me I should have not thrown my ship away like that. I got 2 kills 4 seconds apart because of that ram since the guy trying to ram me was burning from the fires my secondary guns set on him.

I took an Iowa out with my NO. It was very satisfying and I would have gotten blasted had I turned my flank to her.

One battle in the Kongo, two DDs, one about a minute after the other just before taking torpedoes from the second and sinking.  If anybody can figure out how to play old replays, I can post it up somewhere.

If the HP differential is good, you're about to die anyways, it's a key ship that would benefit greatly from being taken out immediately, then maybe today IS a good day to die!

In ranked battles, when your ship is on low hp and the enemy is the last ship (or near last ship) remaining. I've seen that half a dozen times this week, and done it twice

Ive only rammed one ship.  This week actually.  Only survivor on my team in my Kagero.  Torpedoes on cool down having just killed a BB, smoke wearing off with a Des Moine, Atago, and right in front of my an unseen Yamato.  All under 10km and closing fast.  I rammed the Yamato before everyone could nuke me.

 

Added 12,080 damage to my score.  Still lost credits on the match because WG hates us.

I ram when.

-I'm close to the last enemy.

-Very low on HP, and close to a enemy.

-in a non-battle situation.

-Accidentally did not notice a person next to me and it ends in a ram.

I'll happily ram someone in a no-win situation for myself. Taking out another ship can sometimes be the difference in a win or loss.

I try to ram if I'm close enough. Only succeeded in it twice so far. First time both of us rammed each other head on and both died, it was great. Second time was in the Kawachi. The guns on that ship suck anyway so I went for it when the guy got close enough. Actually survived that one and got Die Hard. Was a nice surprise haha.
