Hello, my name is Brian and I am interested in joining the Public Test.  I tried the link in the training section of the World of Warships website, but the site comes up as being down due to maintenance and I am unable to create an account.  Is there any way I can join up?  Thanks again for listening.

Sincerely,

Brian

I didn't have an issue with the so-called "Depot Problem".  I intentionally strip the modules off my ships prior to selling them with the intention of using them again when I buy back selected ships.  Was hoping in the future to purchase additional slots, when on sale, to add certain ships back to my garage.

Why reduce damage from friendly torpedoes?  Why not main guns as well?  Ramming?  Or any other instance of team damage.  Crap happens, learn to play properly.  I would rather you ban players for this kind of activity.  You're not providing any incentive for the player base to better themselves.

I have to disagree.  There are too many noobs who just fire their torpedoes without a second thought to where their team mates might be.  You say "crap happens, learn to play properly".  But the problem is that far too often, the person who got HIT by those foolishly fired friendly torps did absolutely nothing wrong and telling them to "learn to play properly" is just plain insulting.

It goes both ways buddy,Yes I have seen some players both new and experienced do utterly stupid things like firing torpedo's into the path of a ally or fire at a target well beyond the range of their torpedo's because they didn't bother to check the range of their torpedo's prior to starting a battle, however I have also seen instances where the player being hit by torpedo's has wandered into those torpedo's because they have been so fixated on manouvering for a shot they failed to check their surroundings.

While it is the responsibility of a DD,CV,CA captain to aim his torpedo's carefully it is also your responsibility to be aware of your surroundings at all times especially when manouvering for a shot

Agreed, it does go both ways and is more prevalent at lower tiers for obvious reasons. Why can't they increase the player penalty for a team kill? Take away all credits/experience or combination of both? In order to account for an accidental kill or a stupid one (someone sailing into spread) you could earn them back by achieving two hostile kills or something like that. Might make people think twice about nonsense torp spams if they know they will get nothing for the match if they kill a teammate.

You need to create a separate user to access the test server I believe.

How Do I Access the Public Test?

To access the World of Warships Public Test:

  1. Go to to the Public Test website. You can change the language by clicking on the map icon in the corner of the page.
  2. Click the button. You will need to create a new account to participate because the Public Test system isn't connected to the regular game servers. Your current Wargaming.net ID will not allow you to access the Public Test.
  3. Once you've created a Public Test account, you'll receive a confirmation e-mail. Click the link in the e-mail to activate your account.
  4. Once activated, you'll be able to log in using the Public Test client (again, separate from the regular game launcher) which can be downloaded below:

Wasn't telling the poor sap that gets hit to "learn to play properly", was referring to the bonehead who's firing the torps.  I've been his victim on numerous occasions.  I prefer punishing the offenders on a progressive scale.  Loss of credits, xp, and banning users.  Much more draconian measures against the multiple offenders.

Hi just a quick 1st impression. I like the idea of choice for the port. I have noticed while in battle that I am getting torpedoed by aircraft with no aircraft in sight. Also AA guns are shooting at blank skys with nothing there.

For whatever reason I am not getting the large rewards I should be getting, earning the normal amounts that I would earn in the actual game.

Why do you need that you get 1 billion credits and after a very short time when youy unlock your different levels you will get 1 million xp so don't worry about it

Well, the point of public test is to skip through the tiers and test the new stuff.  I cannot get from tier 1 to tier 10 in all the ship types of all the nations in 6 days, even with the 1 million free xp and 1 billion credits.

Hey been playing this game since late Beta , I love it  probably one the most enjoyable games out there right now for myself. This game has more pro's than cons. I'm more into the realistic battles than the normal shoot'em up MMO's. I only have few issues with this patch. Overall it looks pretty good and the game is moving into the right direction.

1) Maps: the new maps they look good enjoyed them, my problem is not with this upcoming patch but the previous one. I pre-dominantly play BB's , I have all the IJN BB's from Kongo to Yamato with the exception of the Izumo (I didn't want deal with that junk) ,  I have the Tirpitz , also and I worked my way to the T6 BB's on the USN side. But I also enjoy Cruiser's and DD most of my tech tree are at T7-8.  I play all sorts of classes. Here's the problem a lot of people prior to this current patch were complaining (mostly BB drivers if I recall) about Hot Spot due to the fact of the cross deployment along the map. My opinion HOT SPOT version 0.5.1 was great map reason being it put people on there toes ie. which direction enemy force was coming from so it made people move with a purpose to close in on the enemy and destroy them. As a BB captain I don't mind get up close and personal with another BB, CA, or DD. But now gameplay all the maps are pretty much the same especially at T8-10's everyone is deployed in the north or south. Wants to just sit back lob salvo's and enemy ship. Anyone can just sit aim the retical/crosshairs at the enemy and smash the mouse buttom. There's plenty of maps up and down the tiers that are identical just different environment.  Basically I would like to see a map option where it deploys teams on opposite sides this allows better team work , luck, skills factoring in more. Maybe even map similar to the Battle of Surigao Strait where it funnels both teams into the main corridor and have a slugfest like a domination mode or last man standing.

2) New Signals: No complaints from me believe its a great addition.

3) Karma system doesn't really affect me, i'm one of those people trying to be respectful to everyone and just enjoy the game. But once in awhile we all get that one clown so I will verbally (type) my opinion of them in chat. Its no big deal to me next match is just a click away.

4) Chat improvements: Nice Job

5) Introductory Mission: No judgement, did not want spend the time I wanted to start unlocking things on my PT account.

6) Port Functionality: I think it was a great idea and good addition but it has some shortfalls. My first gripe is , we are  playing a WW2 simulation MMO game right base on the late 1930's to the conclusion of WW2 in August of 1945. Were in the hell do you have Solar Panels in Yokosuka Port in the 1940s. My suggestion there could have been better themed ports such as Hong Kong , Singapore, Scapa Flow,  Kure or a base with ICE / Nordic setting.

Last but not least the complete details of the patch wasn't released on the NA server just a few things unlike the EU server. But rumor or intent was nerfing the BB rudder time? I'm already a big target if i'm in a BB if your playing a CV or DD and your cant hit with torpedoes when your less than 5k away let along 2k you may need to find a different class of ship to use. That extra few seconds in rudder time only allows me to keep my sanity and not pound my head on the desk because maybe if I was in a lower Tier USN BB I might be able to join the battle sometime today while i'm cruising down the road at 20 knots and everyone else doing excess of 35+ knots if your in a Cruiser or DD.

And that's my take. Will see what happens with this patch. Overall it looks good cant wait for it to come out.

did you read what I wrote?? I started 2 hrs ago I am at tier 9. You have a billion credits once you unlock level that has free XP you will get 1 million pick a line and you can push all the way up to tier 10 without doing a single battle OMG it is not rocket science dude

It's the WoWS x Arpeggio crossover port which is Yokosuka in 2056.

I like the brightness of the daylight in this port and wish the others would be like this, rather than the dreary or nighttime look the other ports have.

PT has been around forever, not sure why so many are having problems. I got right on, updated the copy I had and logged on just fine.

Now to my problem.  I read supposedly they were going to work on or fix the upper tier econony by giving more credits or XP or something for the matches.  My first two matches in the Montana were goth an economical loss.  First battle I only took 1K in damage from HE hits but it cost me 100K in repair bills.  I only won 42K in credits so my game netted me a minus 57K.  The 2nd game was much the same.  I took 13K in damaged from HE shells costing me 110K with ammo costs.  I won 99K in credits but paid out 110K so I had a net of minus 12K in credits.  Maybe Random Battles will be better but so far not enough people are testing to do anything but CO-OP battles.

Let's make this simple... they need to cut the repair costs/ammo costs by at least 15% if not 20% or you just can't make anything at the upper tiers then why are they even worth playing.  Even in the regular game the other day in my Lexy I took no damage but lost 48 planes and it cost me over 50K for the plane replacement.  Not everyone can kill multiple ships every single game so you need to start thinking about the average player and make it feasible for them to even play.
