Having read over the ones detailed in the notes, I cannot say I am in favor of ANY sort of flag that increases the performance of HE or fires.  That is just my opinion though.

So we already have flamethrower cruisers who will light fires nearly every salvo... now we are going to have flag to help that... I like new signals but that seems a tad overboard. And as Legendary asked, will we be compensated for previous awards?

Yeah, I am curious about that as well.  Simply forgot to mention it in my post.  I really hope they rethink the fire flag.....

I do NOT want a flag that increases damage or resulting in one player having an ammunition advantage over another just because they have a flag to do so. Bad idea for all the reasons they said they would not implement premium ammunition.

So far I haven't recieved any NEW reward signals but they look good. I noticed the numbers are up and that will make a difference in the battle performace of each rewarded ship. I will report back later once I have had a chance to use other flags but I noticed in a couple of cases I didn't get the signals that was supposed to after completing the achievement criteria. No biggie it still looks really great!

Don't forget that the increased chance of starting a fire also comes with an increased risk of your own magazines detonating. It balances out.

OKAY, So are you developers saying that our equal speed charlie london will give another perk and the 1.5x xp per match with the flag used will be removed? So that means we will not have a 1.5x flag any more in a sense? Or will we have the 1.5x flag still but just earned 10 per day through a different way instead of earning the Confederate achievement?

If you have a flag for 5 kills, you are going to encourage people to whine and complain about kill-stealing. Currently, that is minimized because kills mean nothing but a ribbon, except in the case of First Blood. The last thing I want to encourage is people getting annoyed when someone finished off "their kill"

Yeah, I am curious about that as well.  Simply forgot to mention it in my post.  I really hope they rethink the fire flag.....

 

I can't imagine that they would give you flags for achievements that you earned in the past. Flags are only awarded once in a 24-hour period. They would have no way of knowing if those 20 Confederate badges were earned over 20 days or all in one (magnificent) day.

Isn't HE getting nerfed in itself? So the flags may not have that much impact. If it isn't then yes, flags increasing HE are an awful idea. HE spam is bad enough, no need to make it worse. Lost many game due to teammates choosing inappropiate ammo.

 

Perhaps make a mission rewarding signals so that we can test? It'd make things more efficient and your population for testing would increase giving you a better pool for stats and responses.

Not a fan of this.  While I like the idea of more signals, I dislike the best flag, equal speed charlie london going to 5 kills rather than the old confederate which is a much better team player.  I also really dislike the idea of boosting damage via flags, it's too much like using premium ammo.

I guess if WG is trying to make detonations a true part of the game, more than annoyance I mean, than well done. Juliet Whiskey Unaone mag det +5%, India X-Ray +5% mag det, if they already occur around 5% naturally than you guys are basically doubling them?

Is the -100% detonation flag applied before or after the +5% lol

 

generally I think these are a bad idea.

 

as for equal speed Charlie London I am guessing too many people were using them instead of buying premium, so they are making them much harder to get.

Equal Speed Charlie London still gives the 1.5x xp bonus like it did before, it's being moved onto a different achievement that's all. This leads into a question I have though: why can't we see which signals are awarded for which achievement now? Currently in 5.1 you can hover over a signal in your port, even if you don't own one, and see what achievement you need to be able to earn them. In the 5.2 PT server you can't see which achievements you need to earn certain signals. With there being more signal in the game now I highly recommend adding back the achievement information to the signal information.

i dont like the idea of "signals".... of course i haven't earned any and not gotten a chance to try them....

 

and i mean by that is the mods and the skippers... even the camo for certain "upgrades" SURE, but these signals seem to be a little un-realistic... just sayin :P

Minus the bonus it's extremely realistic.  Prior to the availability of radio communications signal flags were used to relay messages from one ship to another or even the whole fleet.  Even during WWII they were used extensively if a ship's radio was damaged or if radio silence was in effect.

I am not a fan of them. They look alittle too cartoony.  I do like the Aslains mods better or the standard ribbons. But I like giving Captains the choice
