I think the marblehead may be slightly OP

Just saying out of the three omaha class cruisers we have I think she may be the best of them. And yes I've been using the murmansk and marblehead for the past few days to avoid selling my other cruisers cause of this sale.

I find her to be pretty good, her guns are accurate and I always know where my shots are going, she has nice torps, the only thing I can't say I like are the rudder and AA.

I like Murmansk more, but the Marblehead is still amazing. It's the extra range and torps that does it for me on the Murmansk.

First off the AA on the Marblehead is so bad I'm pretty sure its a few crew men on the decks firing bolt action rifles at the planes. But once you get AFT on the ship it really starts to shine. But I have managed some awesome games in this ship and I have my highest win rate of any ship in this beast.

I know for a fact my deck crew are not using rocks against planes. They managed to shot a plane down once, they partied for weeks afterward.

I find the Marblehead to be superior to the standard C or B hull Omaha, but around the same performance as the Murmansk. Similar torpedoes, similar enough guns. Marblehead's AA is terrible, but she's otherwise solid as a credit maker.

 

Her AP's good enough, and that's all that matters.

What do you mean by "three more torps per side"? Omaha only fires 3 per side to begin with.

Omaha (A) and (B) hull have 2 x 3 533 mm torpedoes per side.  When you go to the ( C ) hull on the omaha, you lose 1 of the triple torpedo tubes and 1 aft gun on each side of the Omaha to gain an additional 2.1 km range and a minor boost to AA.

Maybe it's just me be Marblehead has better guns than the Murmansk, no stat quantifies it but in my experiences the guns pen better. I could care less about the extra range of the Murmansk, the AA is terrible but at T5 it's not a big deal.

You are gonna love the marblehead until you realise that it has worse than DD AA and not enough manoeuvrability to avoid getting torped. (unless you circle forever)

I find that it rarely matters.... the aa is bad. the aa is bad on many boats, doesn't mean they are bad boats. The Nikolai has terrible AA. GREAT boat. The Pheonix is marginal AA at best, still a good boat. AA in any cruiser under tier 6 only matters if you can't be bothered to dodge torpedoes. And then, you deserve to get sunk.
