WG actually listening to player feed back and promising to look into something? Oh god! This is one of the seven signs of the apocalypse isn't it?

Gentlemen (and the odd lady on board),

We didn't purposefully nerf battleships or their AP shells this update. We did touch some armor layer calculations, but that was generally just a bug fix.

However, the amount of feedback about this does indicate that something might be wrong and so we'll be looking at probable causes and fixes tomorrow.

Please keep your tinfoil hats in the drawer for the time being, though those of you who think buying doubloons will help fix the issue are of course welcome to do so.

That's the actual post from the WG rep.

I'm not surprised by this.  If they wanted to nerf battleship AP I think they would have just reduced the damage.  Completely changing penetration mechanics so that the safest place for a cruiser to be against a BB is broadside to it from near point-blank range would be nonsensical.  Hence, it's probably a bug.

This is unsurprising. If it had hypothetically been an intentional nerf, the way it made AP was entirely illogical: punishing competent cruiser play (staying angled and at range) and actively rewarding idiotic play (full broadside at close range).

Eh, WG usually listens to BB players because their combined tears usually turn into a tsunami that no one can ignore. Their collective whining got torps nerfed, rudder speeds buffed and dispersion under 3 km improved. No surprise they'll "fix" the unintentional AP "nerf".

A tsunami big enough to drown out the cries of DDs and CAs :hiding:

Yep, pretty much LOL!

I can't wait until they fix this so we can all go back to complaining about torps being OP.

Holy crap...and in addition, Ev1n actually did something remotely useful for once.

Feel the power of BB player!!

They are like those big American Corporation, totaling in control of the game. Every other class got nerfed so many time, they whined and never get a reverse-change. BB only once and look.

Just play BB, safest class in the game from the nerf bat.

I see... part of me is happy to hear this is not an intentional change, mostly because I liked getting 100k+ damage almost every game thanks to citadels and the ever-so-charitable cruisers who showed their broadsides 90% of the time. Part of me is sad too, it would be nice to see the number of BBs in the game thin down so I could stand out a bit more there

I'll believe it when I see it.

It'll be one of those "We're working on it!" things that gets patched a year from now.

Or we could simply be being lied to. There's been plenty of that, too.

Read the post again. Ev1n said they will look into it tomorrow, they didn't say it will be fixed. the OP has made a lot of contusion with this thread both here and on EU server with a title like that.

I definitely noticed a drop in the number of BBs per game. I used to see 4-5 BBs per team per match, last 2 nights or so the average was more along the lines of 2-3.
