Being rolled by the Phantom is no fun. I was in a match and watched him solo our entire team the other night. That being said I don't think rushing off to the forums like this was the best idea.

 

If it's any consolation just remember that the players on the winning team won't be getting their rewards anyway so it's all good.

problem with the PF CVs is the damage cycle time. They depend on the team being competent enough to stay alive while they make torp runs to start whittling down the enemy. When the entire team is dead in 5 minutes because they all YOLOed in three directions, there's not much we can do =\

This amuses me, as my two games with a Phantom have been complete steamrolls... for the opposing team.  After all, they outnumbered us 2:1 and the Phantom's planes aren't exactly... effective, let's say.

The ONLY reason I don't quit matches early is I pay for damage done to my ships anyway, but I agree with the first poster, these are just bad since teamwork in "pub matches" is limited and to beat one you must have very good teamwork.

The Salem Witch is very scary if you let her gobble up victims one at a time like some horror movie trope.  "Let's split up, gang!" never works.  Gang up on her and she goes down very quickly. 

 

Indeed, while very slow indeed, its quite powerful in fire-power and can be very effective in such a role.

Try being on a fortress side where the fortress does absolutely NOTHING. No ships sunk and only 6 aircraft shot down. That was the worst roflstomping butt reaming Ive ever seen in WoWs

I also had a game when 2 developers were playing on 2 salems and they placed themselves 2 vs all and did IDDQD and IDKFA on us. So...we all got killed.

Also the event is meant to promote TEAMWORK. Regardless of the thevent being OP or not yeah it can be but remember the team with the Salem is down normally 6 ships and the Fortress is usually down 4. 95% of the games I play when in my Salem have been great for both sides and chat has been really positive overall throughout.  Now there are a few exceptions but there will always be negative people.

Hmmm... I've only seen one match with the special ship and we went against the cruiser one (cannot remember which is which).  We torpedoed the hell out of it and went on our merry way to roll his entire team without a loss.... so I cannot say my experience is the same as the OP.
