Been away for a long while. How are the German cruisers?

Well, my rig is still down for repairs and I havnt been able to play for a few weeks now. I'm dying here. I need my fix of wows. But, I guess it's a good thing I had this break. Before I kinda hit a wall and was just playing because I was bored. But anyways, how are the new ships? I can't wait to get back on and get my Hindenburg. (If it's worth it)

Low tiers suck, higher tiers are great.

 

Hindenburg is most certainly worth it.

 

Admiral Hipper alone is worth it.

they are kinda weak outside the dresden until the konigsberg. havnet gotten past that so cant say much other than they are even more glass-cannonish than IJN cruisers it appears.

 

the amount in which the konig loses its engines makes me double-take to make sure im in a cruiser...still fun to play, long range guns with a nice trajectory.

Well tier 7 have higher damage per shell then a Tier 10 US cruiser

T2 & 3 are very much St. Louis style gameplay, you don't usually take citadel hits, and you have high RoF, high (almost orbital) trajectories. If you like St.Louis, they should be fine, tho some hate them for their shell arcs. T4 is a dog... I tried to make it work, gave up and free XP'd... I'm sure someone will master it, but that person is not me. T5 & 6 are supposed to be pretty good (I haven't ground the cred to buy T5 yet, just unlocked it) according to reviewers and they certainly have awesome range. T7 isn't bad but reviews are "meh". Haven't heard of anybody hating on T8 yet, reviews are excellent

The tier six Nurnberg Cruiser is awesome and mine is still in stock configuration. It can absolutely murder anything that is not larger then itself, it feels more like a pocket battleship.

Seriously,  their range sucks.

Their HE is extremely  weak..

Their ap can't pen anything but DD'S. 

Konigsburg gets higher velocity guns and very good tange.

Tiers 1 to 5 seem prone to getting rudders and engine damage very easily.

Ditto this. Free EXP to tier 5. It's the only sane way to do it.

T3 isn't that long of a grind

T4 is about 30 games without any kind of boost, if you can manage 700XP a game. Which I should point out is not possible.

That tier 3 *could* be something decent, but St. Lo is so OP it makes any other tier 3 cruiser look like crap by comparison.

II, III, IV grinded through as fast as I could, none where special the IV probably the worst IV cruiser.

Just got the Konig, 2nd game 103k damage, one salvo'd a Omaha (ap of course). Its a lot of fun and range / dispersion is sweet. Might spend money on a slip so I can keep it...

The German Cruisers tier 5+ are really good though, even if early, below tier 5, they are a bit on the weaker side.

The tier 2 and 3 German cruisers have weaker guns than others, but twice the firing rate. You choose how to play whatever. The tier 4 isn't as good as the American, but it is playable to get to tier five, which is a darn good ship. The higher tiers? I'll find out soon enough. I have spread out my experience across several lines instead of charging up one, so my highest, other than gold, is tier 7 for now.

Okay. Thanks for the response guys. I've got like 500k free xp saved up. Hopefully that gets me to t8. The hipper is the ship I wanted the most out of the cruiser line. Too bad the low tier ships arnt too good.
