No Line of Sight to target? no problem. ;)

That Hiryu risked too much and paid for it. ;)

I aim at / in front of the target in "sniper-view", then click and HOLD the Right-Mouse-Button AND click and hold Left-Mouse-Button to fire.

This way the camera zooms out and I can see my ship, it gives me a better overview and enables me to change course while firing, making me a difficult target. :)

Cool trick.   Every time i tried to fire at something behind an island it has me hitting the island instead lol.  So you can click Fire while holding down right click?

The RIGHT click is not a trick, it is an Alt way to zoom out, and all the good players do it, LOL, to be aware of whats around them when engaged in a  battle...(AND the auto targeting is locked,,, so firing this way from wide view sends shell the wherever your last target lock is... great to use for awareness of map, but not so much if target moves...

the shell arc and the fact that the target "targeted" will shoot over island...

Although a lot of ships will do that IF a target is in auto track....

?

yuse this "tactic" quite a lot lately... especially since the Murmansk and Konigsberg have such great range.... it is helpfull with ships at all ranges in the beginning of a battle...

I noticed while playing ships with low shell velocities that by holding the LMB I wouldn't pick up on obstacles that were closer than the intended target, never thought to hit the RMB at the same time.... Pretty cool, that CV in the video was probably not a happy camper

It helps with the projectile arc of the Cleveland being in low-earth orbit.  They have special heat shields when they re-enter the atmosphere.

I can do the same with US destroyers thanks to the arcs as well. I do not mind high arcs at all. Sure it's a lemon, but this is lemonade you can make out of it.

MANY new players don't do this at all, for them this is some kind of "trick" ;)

Yes I know how to right click to look around.  I wasn't aware that you could fire over islands while trying to aim through them.  Unless they patched it recently.  My shells always go to the point at which I aim them (e.g. island) rather than going over it even with high arc ships that should have no problem clearing the land in the way.
