When I open the map, I can see the ship placements, but can hardly make out any of the islands. I've have been playing this for a few weeks, and this issue just started roughly 1 1/2 weeks ago. Any suggestions on a possible work around/fix for this issue. I enjoy the game, but it is getting a little frustrating. I've not been able to determine a pattern on the issue. I could play 5 games in a row, with no issues, and then black screen, and the next day, when I start up, I go immediately to the black screen. Thoughts? A simple google would have solved this for you long ago. You didn't have to log into my match and camp at the starting line with the other AFK guys while I was fighting by myself. "Trying to deal with a software bug" It's been known about by wargaming for well over a year, they didn't even bother keeping it in the known bugs list back in alfa. They have no intention of fixing it or acknowledging it. When you started your game, and it read your specs, they could have shut off post processing when they preset game for your hardware/software, but they choose not to. They don't care that people with laptops are getting a black screen and appear to be afk on the level 2-4 map. For over a year, think about it. Wake up, and get your craptogether, instead of dumping it off on others.

Turning off Post Processing in the options seems to have done the trick. So, thank you for that, at least. It should be of little surprise to you that Wargaming in uninterested to acknowledging, let alone fixing, this bug. Gaming software is notorious for software errors. Because of their nature, games are often developed with a "good enough" approach. It's understandable (albeit, damn annoying) because it lacks the need for usability and accuracy of financial, medical or real world military applications. To put it simply, gaming is not a mission critical activity. One might get annoyed by the occasional error, but no one is going to die. I do believe that your logic is flawed. You criticize fellow players for experiencing a software anomaly that was introduced by the developers. You acknowledge that Wargaming doesn't, "... even bother keeping it in the known bugs" , then lambaste people for not knowing of them in advance. You suggest that the players are at fault for not researching the problem to find a solution, when that was exactly what some of us were doing here... in the game forum... where people are supposed come for assistance and answers. And, while I can't speak for all, it would not have been practical to have researched the problem and applied the workaround for a game that has only installed a month ago. I highly recommend that you publish your tips, tricks and workarounds clearly in the forum to help make everyone's time more enjoyable. Perhaps you might enlighten us all with brilliance, instead of attempting to blind everyone with arrogant effluent. I'm not sure why it happens but i have a somewhat superstitious feeling that you must join the game before 15 or 10 seconds otherwise it bugs out. I not actually sure if this is the real reason as to why Black screen happens ok, so don't quote me.

Can't play a battle I am having the exact same problem, especially when I press esc key and go back all I see is a blurred image of the esc menu and the HUD is there, when I move my mouse, it makes a huge mess all over the screen. Thank god I am not the only one...

It happens in start up screen as well... when load in the see my garage, if I press the esc key and esc again to go back to the game, it flickers every time I hover over a button... This is so frustrating I was just getting into the game.
0 screwed_up Members 5 posts 57 battles Report post #13 Posted November 4, 2015 SOLVED: The problem is with catalyst control center, you need to set all your settings to let the application manage it, such as aa or post processing. Hope this helps. This could have problems with NVidia control centers as well, because the two settings will clash.
