Its way too high and there is no historical or game balance excuse for it to be that big.

Or is it a bug that's already on the "to fix" list and WG just hasn't gotten to it yet?

Working as Intended due to how massive a target she is on top of having the slowest gun traverse rate (only Warspite matches) and wide turning circle.  But Montana needs her own repair to match.

Everyone knows it was the IJN who had far superior damage control and repair. That's why they won the war! Montana is lucky it has repair at all.

Seeing how Yamato took a historic amount of damage that is eclipsed only by her sister ship Musashi before finally sinking, there's plenty of historic evidence for her extended endurance.

ikr!!! We all know that this is a history text book and not a semi-realistic arcade game right? Heaven forbid anything be better than the great ol' US of A!!!

Yes. But how much damage did she take until she was combat ineffective?

OP sure has a few people spooked with the idea of a Yamato nerf...

IIRC the Yamato can repair 0.75% HP/second. Most other ships will repair 0.5%HP/second. I think the Colorado is the only exception, which actually makes it surprisingly beefy.

Don't worry there is always more Montana QQers to balance things out.

I ont agree with a yamato nerf, but a montana buff to her repair. Infact, I would like to see a .25% increase in repair over yamato for montana. That would be cool ^_^

I am a yamato player btw

You sure about that?  I think the Yamato is entitled to a repair boost, similar to how the Montana deserves the extra turret.

Um what? No.

That would be imbalanced and unhisotircal by miles...

Idk Yamato repairs way too much against t8.  I remember one game we got her down to 5k and she repaired back to something like 27k (not sure if he was using flags).

Isn't all battleship repair percentage-based? It's only high because Yamato, being a 72,000 ton monster, has a lot more health than other battleships.

Yamato already has the higher caliber guns and a shorter citadel as her advantage, so why again does she deserve a repair advantage too.

Yamato's repair can repair up to 20% hp, all other battleships its 15% HP.

I see. It may be something put in to make her a bit different from other battleships.

Like how Warspite can fully repair citadel damage.

AFAIK the re[pai repairs a percentage of max health. So it's so high because her health pools is so high which is so high because WG decided to use displacement, rather than tier and game balance to decide HP totals. Hence why most high tier cruisers suck. They don't scale much if at all in health whilst BB's scale drastically.

Really the USN should be the one with the HP regen advantage, given the poor quality of IJN damage control.

I own both the Montana and the Yamato and love both ships.  I've done pretty well with both, and I hope I can objectively state that the Yamato does need some slight adjustment to bring it down some.

The Montana is a great ship, but the Yamato is simply more forgiving of poor play.  It holds your hand in ways that a lot of ships don't, and compensates for player mistakes.  The armor is more forgiving of bad angling.  The strength of it's armor also means that most of the damage you take is light or moderate damage, so it's very easy to maximize the Yamato's larger heal even if you're not paying attention.  The guns are accurate, the penetration allows you to be less precise on your aim, and the secondaries will punish anyone that comes into range without any player input.  The AA defenses are actually pretty powerful too.  It's even more torpedo resistant than the Montana.  If I were making a list of dummy-proof ships, the Yamato would be near the top.

The Montana takes more work to squeeze out it's potential.  It's average damage on the NA server is 83k, compared to 96k for the Yamato.  If you put the Montana into context vs lower tier ships, I'm not sure it even needs any buffs.  A Montana is very powerful against tier 8 and 9 battleships, but not so much that an Iowa or Tirpitz truly fear a Montana in the way that they try to avoid fighting a Yamato.  I think slightly lowering the Yamato's reload speed or lowering it's healing capacity would pull it into line while still keeping it a powerful ship.

Repairs and Damage Control are two different things.

Doesn't USN already have a lower cooldown on DC? If not, they should.
