Why does it cost credit to repair ships?

I'm kind of upset over having to pay credit to repair my ship. I just grinded the Iowa, and it cost so much to have it repaired after a battle. I sometimes have to switch back and forth between the Tirpitz and Iowa just to get credit so I can pay for damages on the Iowa. It sucks, and now I hardly use it. I think this also explains to why in higher tier battles, none of the battleships like to engage and get it close combat. The battles are almost boring for the battleships. At least for me. The game feels like an arcade game that you constantly have to feed money to keep playing. Does any one else feel the same way? please post thoughts below.

It's part of the economy. It's supposed to encourage you to buy premium ships, premium itself, or play lower tiers to grind for cash.

You will hear - "This is the way WGing has designed all of their games" --- except that is a mis-statement. (I don't call it a lie) I have talked with people in tanks at upper tiers (I am not that high) and to use consumables, or not use a premium account - yes expensive. But the tanks are usable at a profit unless you completely suck if you have a premium account.

 

In planes - the upper tiers hold their own - again if you have a premium account and don't use consumables.

 

For some reason ships does not follow this model from Tier 8 and up. I have no idea why. Frankly - I think this discourages the premium account in Ships.

It's how the economy works.

 

I don't see it as a huge issue if I survive, do damage, or at least break even. I also have many mid tier ships that I can make boatloads in.

overall i dont loose money even when playing my tier 10 (i got premium account and i run camo + 2 gold consumable using credit)

 

by overall i mean on average ... cause a bad game can cost me 100k but a good game will earn me 200k (net)

You are a good player though, so that skews the results.

The battles are almost boring for the battleships.

 

Maybe high tier players should just grow some balls and just go and fight then. You gotta spend your credits on something, so just out there, have fun and who cares if you lose money?

The economy in WoT is stupid. It's completely flooded with credits and that's not good. It's far too easy for even tier 10s to earn money even when they are spamming gold. That's not supposed to be the case.

I think it's fine that tier 8s can still make money, but after that it becomes harder and harder to do.

Once you get to Tier VIII, repair costs go up exponentially.  If you don't sink a ship or two or do a lot of damage, if you lose the bill cuts deep.  The incentive here is to keep people at least trying to play the game properly with the though of high repair costs in the back of their minds all the time.

you serious ? in wot i always been around 2400 WN8 and i find money way harder to make than world of warship , tirpitz just print money .... way more efficiently than all the tier 8 premium i got (i have most of them)

 

but i agree that tier 9 and 10 (ships) should have their repair cost cut by like 20%

id be fine if it was lowered for the first few days you own a ship so you can get used to it then it spikes it up. nothing worse than using a new ship that plays differently and you lose more credits than a murmansk can make in a game.
