I'm sorry but not knowing the position of your ship or your enemy's ship makes this game unplayable! so sick and tired of every fifth game being desynced! shots going through target getting mysteriously blown up by shots landing in the ocean and having torps go through everything.

or at the very least explain why this happens so often and what we can do to prevent it.

I've literally never had any of these problems you speak of.

What have you done to diagnose this issue?

You mean this?

i haven't had desync issues.   so if its their server. why hasn't it happened to me?

keep in mind they can't control everything between you an their server.

PSO2 had the same issue. everyone in NA couldnt connect due to a data tunnel between them and the server.  nothing PSO2 could do.

I live in the mountains with crappy internet. Have 150-180 average ping, but never have I had a desync like you mention so doubt it's their servers that are a root to this problem.

they'll fix desync when you fix your internet connection.

Unless their Ping indicator is giving erroneous info, Making it another issue all in its own,  This Desync is definitely the server and not a connection issue.

seems less like a problem on WG's end.  and more a combination of the time it takes server data to travel from server, to your computer. then from your computer, translated and calculated into the screen

so your client is lagging behind the server by a tad.

49ms is NOT BAD.

i've played with 120ms and been fine

its when u get 250-300+ ms that theres a connection fk up

so looking here, its a client translation delay.

could be an issue with GPU, CPU, other processes making a Que for the processor(remember WoWS is NOT multi core supported yet)

the easiest way to get rid of this is to close outside programs, stay mod clean(as mods are between the client and the screen). especially server dependants like XVM, and play full screen.

also

plz  check your upload and download speeds

post them here

I don't use mods...my connection is extremely fast...I have no lag issues...everything renders fine. fps is high. yet still behind.

plz give us your download and upload speeds.

your connection might be extremely fast.  but upload speed might be bad.

and here is my connection for reference

also keep in mind it might not be the connection.  it might be your computer itself having other programs running in the background that are creating a waiting line for your processor.

It feels like at time the good old packet loss fun times from CBT are back again.

Where you have a great ping (mine likes to float in the 60-70 range), yet you'd be playing slide-show-ships due to the packets getting dropped server side.

if that was the case then i'd be getting this issue as well.

I've gotten a slideshow for the entire match and everyone on the team got it as well once in a great while.

But it isn't constant or often.

Desync is still a thing, as I notice it too.  and before you ask me about my connection, it's a direct backbone to level3, which WG uses.

EDIT: and here's a server on the west coast closer to where WoWS is.

I have noticed desync from time to time, but can tend to compensate from the shooting side. Getting hit, well meh. If it is me, or them I don't know, but I do average 70-80 ping when my GF's kid isn't here and 100-120 when he is....

I have seen this where you have a ship in scope and it jumps across the scope.

this is due to lag...something totally different than desync. this corrects itself by the spike and jump. desync doesn't. its like your ship is always infront of where you see it even though the rendering is smooth and the enemy ship are always not where they are either.

I like how the canned response for issues that are so obviously the server become "your PC is slow, I play on Maxmega100000000 and have no problems" or "your isp must suck". For weeks now the servers have sucked, specifically right around this time and for a game that is supposed to be in open release it's a bit of a joke.

Many many ping traces since closed beta have been posted that shows a continuing issue at the level 3 hop. WG has been informed of this problem time and time again. It's like the WoT server pre-east/west split. Teilla.net was causing havoc with west coast players to the point that it was almost unplayable. Their 'fix' was creating the west server and it worked.

I have seen this where you have a ship in scope and it jumps across the scope.

Are you sure the focus isn't just shifting from rear to front turret?  As the focus changes on your target, the aspect will change as it shifts turrets to get a better view.
