To all of you who complain about MM

People complaining about MM is worse than MM being bad, and it rarely, rarely is ever bad. Some of you get put in a match with a 2 tier spread and lose your mind because its uneven.

 

 - The only ones who do complain about MM are those that give up before it starts, or those who arent good enough to play at the tier they are playing and just want to blame MM.

 

Its a +/- 3 tier spread !

 

 Enjoy the variety! What do you expect, the same matches over and over again with the same ships all at the same tier? Get real, Enjoy the variety, enjoy shooting down lesser ships, and if you are the lesser ship.... learn to STRATEGIZE AND PLAY WELL ! but most of you expect WG hand holding a golden spoon to hand feed you perfectly even matches so everything is " fair "  .. last I checked, online gaming isnt fair, war isnt fair... deal with it.

 

 I for one, welcome unbalanced teams, I like the variety, and the challenge.

i generally have no issues with MM here, even being down 3 in the old system you could still compete, you just had to be careful. the +/-2 we have now is really good.

 

the biggest issue i tend to see is associated with divisions. when there are a bunch of divs and low sever population in general or at a given tier ive seen some wacky results. teams with more players or a team with more higher tier shipis. these are pretty rare though and overall MM is OK just needs a little tweaking.

im not going to waste 20 mins so the rest of the team can lemming off to the wrong side of map, and then retreat as soon as they get shot at. And then be all the way on wrong side of map, as the team gets capped out.

so u have 4 or 5 ships with full health that camped in back of map too afraid to engage, and lose on cap

When I am in my Essex and I am.matched against a Midway I just say "oh well" because a few games later I am eating a Lex. So it all balances itself out in the end.

Still wouldn't do it if I were you. Reporting as a bot also works for AFKs, and enough of those could result in a ban. If the team is really gonna fail off go behind them and soak some enemy ships for damage then run if it falls to pieces. Who knows, they may snowball through a team even worse than them. I've seen utterly ridiculous teams and gone along with them, only to find out the enemy team is even worse.

^ If it's really bad, just laugh at it, at least it'll be over pretty quick. Could be worse. You could be stuck in a 40+ minute League match where everyone just gets angrier the longer the failboat takes to reach port, because quitting out will get people punished. So instead they just stay in and rage.

The MM doesn't suck?  Then why did I just leave a tier 5 match where it gave my team 4 tier 3 and the enemy 1? It couldn't make it 2 and 2?  It does this kind of uneven split routinely.  On top of this is the fact that my ship was one of those tier 3, and this ship, a Tenryu, sees more tier 5 matches than tier 3 and 4 combined.  That's 2 prime examples of how the MM sucks.  Granted, not everyone gets the same level of MM.  Someone's got to get the short end of the stick.  If that's not you then be thankful, but don't defend a program that the developers have had 5 years to work on.  The MM is a huge ally to many of those who have more wins and better stats, and it's a huge detriment to many who lose more than they should and have stunted stats due to bad matchups that leave them fighting shorthanded more often....whether based on the mix of ships or the players using them.

I don't get MM sometimes.  I've had games with a pair of T8 DDs on our team and a pair of T10 DDs on the other.  Why not split them up one on each?   

 

MM really is drunk.  Divisions make it drunker.

While true ... its still too easy to game the MM with a T10 CV.  Too many matches where one team gets a midway and the other a T7 IJN...... Thats not winnable in most cases. High tier population will continue to suffer as long as the MM can be gamed to Q dump a sh-itty match. Last night was a Midway and 2 Zao's forcing Q dumps  and it didnt take long for T8 + to die off.
