Complaint- I cannot reset, change,  remove,  or alter the daily challenge.  I now have 3 daily challenges that have been there for days,  one for weeks because they are torpedo oriented and I don't want to grind to a torpedo ship. 

 

Fix-

1.  Implement a way to remove one daily challenge a day so we can avoid the ones that do not suit our personal tastes. 

2. I get off my lazy butt and grind out some torpedo matches. 

 

Comments- I know it's rather insignificant but  other games that have daily challenges allow you to cycle them to some degree.  I'm not saying we get to cherry pick them but a feature that allows us to slowly cycle would be nice.  I'll probably just get off my lazy butt and grind the damn things in a few more weeks.

There is no need to 'grind' a DD. You can get in a fully upgraded Waka on the IJN line in 5-10 games, ffs. The Daily Challenges are designed to encourage players to try different ships. If you chose not to run ships capable of fulfilling the challenges, that is your choice.

 

But expecting WG to tailor the game to just your desires is plain silly.

16 second torpedo reloads (with captain skill)? That's a torpedo every 4 seconds, on average. AWESOME.

5.4km detection range with 8km torps?  yes please.  granted, they're slow as balls at 48kts but they are only spotted .75km away or something.  too close for those kawachis and SC's to do anything.

The slow speed and long range just makes it even more fun to launch them against massed ships of Tier II-IV because you occasionally can get accidental hits against other ships, all the while sailing around the big circle firing more torpedoes. Something special about seeing so many torps in the water at once.

 

I've stalled entire fleets solo because of that. No one wants to venture into waters when there are 10+ torpedoes in it from all sorts of directions.

I love playing that dd. Whenever I need a pickmeup game I go for it :)

16s??  @enderland07 I call horse-pucky.  I've only been able to upgrade as far down as 22s...20s if I sacrifice the 3km range boost from main torpedo upgrade...

And if you complain about shooting down planes just go tier 4 Langley. Easily get what you need in a game or two.

I think mine are 18s, and tis not a range boost.  I'm not sure what you're referring to specifically, but nothing increases torp range.  Do you mean the 2nd set of researched torps?

The Umikaze is my seal-clubbing vessel of choice - I should get an all-black skin on her and let her dress as the assassin she is!

 

Her reload was nerfed from 15 seconds to about 20, which I have down to about 16 now.  With the right paint her detection is below 5.5 km.  Torp ranges let you snipe undetected.  

I see her as my "welcome to the next level" intro for new players, "Hello!  Here, meet torpedoes!"

 

She can be had for a song, totally grind-free, and stays fun even after you reach the upper tiers, just because she is!

Upgrading from Type 42 to Type mod. 2 Torpedoes does, in fact, increase (or, boost) the range from 5km to 8km while decreasing the reload speed by 2s.   

 

(edit/addition) Torpedo Amament Expertise provides -10% torpedo tube reload speed.  Aside from that, I'm unaware of anything else that would have an effect on torpedo reload.  With all of the above on, it's 22s reload & 8km range.  If you're getting 18s  and he's getting 16s, I would VERY MUCH like to know how.

Ah, I might have been remembering from when I had the short range torps - I played it for a while after I rebought it forgetting to upgrade it to the 8km torps :medal:

 

Maybe I've not noticed the drop to 22s afterwards?

I had a player on my team who had his re-load time down to 13 seconds. It was amazing.

@DarthDon49 :  Unless it was before a big update where they increased reload by 9 whole seconds, that's completely false.

 

@enderland07 :  It's a 2s reload for 3km range tradeoff.  16s is just false.

There's a chance I could be remembering it wrong, but I always recall a 18s timer after launching torps.  I'll double check tonight, but this doesn't take away the slow moving torp storm the Umi causes

Might depend on how fast you launch torpedoes as the timer only shows time until fastest torpedo tube reloads.

I'm only using data provided by World of Warships.  Not specu-jection from some random person's unfounded claims.  I don't believe that launching 2 salvos at a more rapid pace would increase the game's stated reload time.

 

Edit:  But I will be the first to admit, I haven been incorrect on numerous occasions...

I didn't time him exactly, he stated it was 13 seconds. I do know it was less than 15 seconds, his range was short, though..
