74 PPH402 Alpha Tester 697 posts 8,544 battles Report post #1 Posted October 8, 2015 When the new lines get released it's going to be interesting for the lower tiers. We're going to have a lot of experienced players starting on the new lines. Players that have grinded, in some cases, with the Alphas, three times, and with the Betas twice. I don't know what it was like for the Alphas when the CBT started and they got an influx of new players, but I know for the Betas we didn't get thrown in with totally new players after the wipe. We were given a bit of a head start to fight among ourselves and go up a few tiers to populate them before they let everybody in. By the time the new players caught up, they had some idea what they were doing. Now though, it's going to be a lot of really good players just wrecking things for a while in the low tiers. Should be interesting. Just remember to be nice when you killed by friendly torps, it's bound to happen.

It will be rough but at the same time the new ships are also different enough that people will have to try to learn their strengths. Some people still hop into an Umikaze to finish that daily "Torpedo 15 people!" mission.

Got tier 10s then tier 10s again and so forth lol so taking my time this time. I still enjoy the game. Seen many changes. Some good some not so good in my opinion. Anytime a line comes out in WoWs or Wots it is always exciting. So looking forward to it.

If you are reasonably capable, you can play to t4 in about 20-30 battles. Unless you are a dedicated seal clubber, t1-3 really isnt much fun other than the occasional lolwut battle. I'm planning to either free XP it or hope I do excellent and get up to the Nurnberg ASAP.

My Russian captain is well trained, my German not so much. I haven't used the Tirpitz that often since it's still new enough that you see so many of them. On the Russian side I have one captain that just hops between the Gremy, the Aurora and the Murmansk. I'll have to respec him for DDs, but he's got a lot of points to use. Yup. Lot's of DD's don't know torp range. I rebought the St Loius since I didn't want to Fexp to Scal and people are loosing torps at 8-12 km when their range is half that. It's bloody down there. Gotta watch your allies more than your enemies.
141 Deadeye_Pete Members 289 posts 1,605 battles Report post #16 Posted October 8, 2015 You guys got that right.. On the other hand I love low tier play.. You just never know whats going to happen in a match! I'm far from alone either. I never have any problems finding a match low tier. Its nice when my side wins, but most of the time we all go out and die gloriously! Afterwards, base VOQ bar for beers and pool! There are lots of subtleties to play of WOWS. and I'm always finding more. I wanna grab that tier one german cruiser and hire myself out as close escort for tier III,IV,and V BB's and tier IV and V carriers. Jingles gave a look at it and those dual purpose main battery guns on that thing may turn into a bit of a terror.. or maybe not.. I understand the Atlanta doesn't use its main guns for AAA work which it should as that was what the ship was designed for, not destroyer killing (though it can do that job right niceley. I'f I'm wrong on that please feel free to correct me. I don't have an Atlanta/ Deadeye Pete sends.

Gotta watch your allies more than your enemies. That's what made me think of this. I accidentally took my Yubari into a battle (meant to take the Hatsuharu) tonight and ended up hunting BBs with a couple of friendly DDs. I dodged more of their torps than the enemies and they kept launching way out of range of their targets. It was fun though. The low tiers can be exciting. It kinda came down to who could sink noobs faster.

I won't use it on the new ships though. I save it for when I get a new CV to upgrade the planes. Nothing worse than having to go up against a mirror CV and getting dominated because they have better planes.
