Which CV line to go for?

So I been grinding the IJN CV line and made it to the Hiryu and I have liked it thus far. I played the Shokaku in CB and also enjoyed it but I'm looking at the end game at this point and I am wondering which top CV has the advantage(if any). The Midway just looks so good but I am questioning its offensive capabilities as I am use to the Japanese CV zerg like tactics. So is the Midway worth the grind or is the Hakuryu better? Also I heard rumors that WG is rebalancing the CV's again in the up coming patch, is that also true?

American Fighters are better than Japanese. American torp bombers have a tighter spread than Japanese. Japanese CVs early on seem to have more squadrons than American.

I know(from playing Japanese CV's) that American fighters tend to be better but what about the end game? I read the Hakuryu is better suited for dealing damage to enemy ships but I seen the midway is leading in top damage in the leader boards while the Hakuryu is second. I like assisting my team with fighter cover but I would also like to be dealing damage to the enemy as well.

Agree with Treediagram.


The USN line is a pain to grind, or should I say, a bit more boring, due to less squads and being a bit fighter heavy.

 

With that said, the Midway is far superior to the Hakuryu because it's planes are so tanky and with two torp squads of six each in a tight spread, it's wrecking things. Hak fighters cannot shoot down their squads with any reliance (TB/DBs), and don't even think about the fighters.  The main issue I see is the IJN planes run out of ammo before finishing off the squads, due to AMMO/HP ratio.  The buff to 'rear gunners' has really benefitted the Midway as well, as they are actually shooting down just as many fighters as they are losing ship strike planes.  It's a bit of a joke right now.

 

The Hak is also harder to play because you are also micro managing 9 squads, which is busy.

Ok then, I know the IJN carrier line is fun and I heard the USN Carrier line is a bit troubling but I am looking at the end game and I'm seeing that the Midway is looking to be the better choice.
