I really like the ijn cruisers, but I do want to start another line so I have at least 2 ships to level. I am wondering what you guys think I should play based on my liking o ijn cruisers? I am really undecided atm.

USN cruisers are fun too, although the playstyle is a bit all over at the minute. omaha is a great credit grinder, cleveland is out of place to say the least (tier wise, CL in a CA line), the pensicola has nice guns and AA with no armor. the NO on have better armor.

im starting to like BBs a lot myself. both trees are fun with their different 'flavors'. DDs are a bit tough to play, and ive never used a CV outside of early CBT so cant really offer much.

Im not really interested in USN cruisers. The only ones I would like is the cleveland and the des moines, and I am not going to grind through the entire tree just to get those two. For the japanese cruisers, they all good and that's why I chose them as my primary line (except the furutaka, and the Ibuki which seems like a downgrade from the Mogami)

Jap beats US on all levels.

Typically saying "Jap" is not welcome on the forums due to the negative connotation involved with it. And saying the IJN beats the USN navy in all areas is a bit of a strong opinion.

As a at best average player I can say that playing BBs has improved my game immensely. Gotten better at aiming and positioning, it can be difficult in the beginning because of the slow down in comparison to cruisers or destroyers but the ability to inflict so much damage is rewarding.

I'd suggest playing IJN BBs up till the Kongo, if you don't like the Kongo then it is not for you. Use almost guarantee though if you like IJN cruisers you will like the Kongo.

In regards to the post, Each nation has their "flavor". IJN BB line usually has long range, large guns, and fast speed but bad AA, slow turret traverse, and easy to spot citadels. IJN CL's are again fast, large guns, and have the added advantage of Torpedo's while the IJN DD's have the best torpedoes thus far but the worst guns. USN BB's up until Tier 8 have a lot of guns, very slow, and have pretty good AA while being pretty well armored. When you reach Tier 8 then they start getting really good(in my opinion) as your speed dramtically increases, your AA is superb and your guns become ever better. USN Cruisers are fast firing, easily citadel'ed, and have good turret traverse while having the best AA abilities so far. USN DD's have great guns but very poor torpedoes until you reach the Fletcher. There are exceptions to the rule but that is the basic break down of IJN and USN.

The lower tiers the American Cruisers are best then mid tiers it swings in favor of the Japanese cruisers then tier 10 back to the US. I had the Furutaka but gave up on it. I will return to it one of these days but I got spoiled with the Atago and cant stand anything less then it.

I like cruisers and yet now I find I do well in BBs. I'd suggest IJN BB line. Having a lot of fun in the Fuso at the moment.  :)

I like USN DD's myself. I enjoy hunting other DD's early and chasing down CV's in late game action.

I also like BB's and tend to survive better in those. It's a lot slower pace though.

Jap beats US on all levels.

Its IJN btw, some people take offense to the other.

Now Now, Don't personally feel that way here.

If you go TvT it kind of goes back and forth.  T7 BBs IJN Nagato is winner, T8-9 BBs I feel goes to the USN N.C. and Iowa.

Seems the same in most lines so far to me.  Only one I can't compare is IJN CV as it is the only line im not going down atm.

The problem with IJN cruisers is that they replaced all the armor with citadels.

If you like the IJN cruisers, I'm going to assume you'll like the IJN destroyers as well.  They're basically the same thing, except with the DDs you don't have to worry about decent guns which will detract from your torpedo play.

Jap Road in Texas was named to honor the original Japanese farmer who settled it. Even after WW2, when the word became derogatory, (was no different than Brit or Canuck when the farmer set up in 1905) it was fine. Pressure from advocacy groups lef local government to offer residents a chance to change it in 1993, and even the Japanese descendants of the original family were against the change. It took pressure from the Anti Defamation League and the Japanese American Citizen's League to force a change.

IOW, the people that actually lived there and took it the way it was intended wanted the name left alone, including people for who the term was supposed to be derogatory. But they were overruled by a bunch of people who don't even live there that took offense where the complete opposite was intended.

So any racial slur as long as you're not meaning it in a bad way is ok?

BTW I personally have no problem with any of it, but when talking about a Nation's Navy I prefer that Nation's Navy's historical title as opposed to slang.

:honoring:

I'm waiting for the German cruiser line in a couple of weeks.

Judging by how fast I beat down a Roon last night in my Mogami you might not want to hold your breath,
