Colorado HE Bugged?

Hey guys, I've encountered a perplexing issue with the HE ammo on the Colorado, and that is while it does 5700 alpha damage against soft targets, it never gets anywhere above 2k for me. Now, what types of ships am I using HE on you might ask, mainly destroyers who should be getting annihilated but isn't.  So, I was wondering if there are anyone else who currently have the Colorado is having this issue with DD's eating HE shells like there isn't no tomorrow.

 

For those wondering where exactly I am aiming at on the DD, when I am at around 8k from him, at the waterline or just a little above to take out his weapons.

you only do max dmg if u hit citadel.

I'm primarily talking about HE against DD's which as far as I know does not have a citadel. Anyways, I wasn't aware that DD's had damage reduction, but it seems kinda rediculus that a AP salvo seems to do more damage than an HE salvo from the Colorado, hence why I am asking this question first before making a thread in the bug report section.

 

Thanks for letting me know about the reduced damage that DD's takes though, I guess that could explain some of the reasons why DD's seem to survive on a sliver of health compared to other ships.

DDs get a flat damage reduction in addition to not having a citadel.

 

despite this. overpen still does dmg that isn't affected by the dmg reduction.(needs confirmation)

 

and unfortunatley. Yubari being classified as a Cruiser means that this DD like Cruiser still takes full dmg and has citadel.....

 

so if you want to see what DDs were like before they got dmg reduction and lost their citadels......look for a Yubari and see how fast it dies once shot at.

Thank you for this information because I was about ready to rant about it, though I figured asking first before making myself look like an idiot lol. Anyways, I'm kidna surprised I've been having this much issues with killing DD's when I would catch DD's thinking they were sneaking on me and unleash a full broadside with the New Mexico.

 

Also ironic when you know when BB captains have to hunt down DD's seeing as the cruisers would rather go after the nearest BB is kinda screwed up in a way.

i'm sure Cruisers feel the same when they have to hunt down a BB whose staying out of their range.

 

honestly, the whole problem is dmg is the only real way for credits and exp.

and BBs are the biggest money pots.  while DDs will barely pay for ammo.
