Map Boundaries - not equal for Aircraft and ships??

Today, my ISHIZUCHI took 4 torps from aircraft clearly OUTSIDE the marked boundary for the ships ....   How is it they have room to dive, and drops torps at the edge of the map which became active immediatley  and sank me on the actual border?  Clearly they aircraft need to have their own internal boundary that should be slightly smaller than for ships, at least giving them room to move.   Otherwise that would be a great trick if Carrier sent their bombers up the border to attack with impunity - perhaps that is what happened with me.  Is this a glitch?

Any thoughts - anyone else have this happen?

Still doesn't beat the time where in beta I had a squadron of torp bombers fly over 300km away from me.  Actually I don't think aircraft actually have borders, you just can't order them anywhere outside the blue line.

Torpedo bombers only do this if they've been set to auto drop on a ship near the border and they drop from the side closest to the blue line, otherwise it's impossible to get them to drop a spread outside of the blue line.

You CAN get planes to fly outside the map, but it can be a challenge, thanks to sometimes glitch CV controls.

How?

Have your planes fly along the blue line.

Place a manual torp drop a ways ahead of them.

While the planes are still flying, grab the drop point of the attack, and rotate it outside of the map.

Wait a bit until your planes start to fly outside the map

Before your planes reach the drop point give your planes a new way point ahead of you, and they will keep outside the map.
