Minefields?

Has this ever been discussed? (i am a noob) Planes could drop mines at strategic locations blocking channels thru islands etc.  Is this a STUPID idea?  Should I be flogged around the fleet and keel-hauled for suggesting this? If ya wanna flog me make it good!

It has been discusses. Often times in the same threads as submarines. There are many many reasons why this wouldn't work. The biggest reason being it would kill just as many teammates as it would enemies. Also most mines were laid by dedicated mine laying craft or other ships to small or poorly armed to even be considered for implementation in WoWS.

 

Next time use the search bar cause this has been discussed for a very long time. So ya a flogging is in order

Search bar.  Got it!  By the way mines were laid by aircraft if I am not mistaken. I DID ask if this had been discussed so I should probably only get 10 lashes instead of 100 by all ships in the fleet.

No mines were laid by ships and some planes later on. Particularly smaller vessels like destroyers/ corvettes/ frigates would be adapt at this function.

Ya.  Planes laid mines.  Don't know much about that however.

Many DD's and CL's were able to lay mines. No new ships would be needed.

It's called Admiral and it came out in 2008. It's based on a true story about Alexander Kolchak who went from a Fleet Admiral to Commander of the counter Communists during the Russian Revolution/ Russian Civil war.
