This seems to be the trend and this video on The Mighty Jingles Facebook page. It seems the package deal has rattled some cages and this is the result.

Yeah I saw the paypal deal and decided to pass on it since I find the fact that they don't sell new ships in game and tirpitz being shop only.  I think that all ships should be also sold for dubloons and package deals can just give a slightly better deal if they want all the items.

People in general and more public people like him need to keep complaining and keep ranting about it. The moment the community stops talking about how anti-consumer this is will be the moment that this becomes standard for WG. Always raise your concerns until they are dealt with, not a moment before then. That is our responsability as consumers.

WG has their reasons to do this but I would rather them not choke the entire NA/EU/SEA community by their wallets and end up severely damaging both their reputation and playerbase. Both of which will bleed for a very long time and end up with a lot of fiscal losses.

LOL.

Greed is usually then end of a company's run.

They need to adjust their pricing for sure.  A lot of angry people around and also 50 EUROS FOR THE WARSPITE IS HILARIOUS.

Yup, nothing exiting and no Mikasa.

Already have the Atlanta and would not buy with a bundle anyways.

Not buying premium until Mikasa is offered for sale or gifted.

I agree that if you need premium, the bundles are great because you end-up saving 7%.

I miss the times when you could buy almost all premium ships with gold instead of on the shop.  Especially with CAD value flying around for the last 2 years.

(ie: buy gold when my dollar is high and buy whatever comes out with gold, regardless if the pitiful state of the said currency).

Basic economics. They will charge what people are willing to pay as long as they can reach their target profit goals. Every single company on earth does it this way, not just WG.

A lot of people complain about the price of cars they can't afford but would like to have, but companies are not going to lower prices so everyone can have one. Thats not how the real world works and thats not how companies, including WG make money/stay in business.

Question is, how long can they keep this up before they lose a chunk of their playerbase from salt, because people who otherwise would've bought a premium ship just don't anymore.

We'll see next fiscal quarter if this campaign model is going on.

Supply and demand.

Do you think there are not enough Tirpitz in the game currently, at the current price?

High demand = high price. Always has and always will. When demand starts to drop off, the price will drop to match it. It really is all basic economics. Right now they get everyone who wants to or is willing to pay a certain price for an object, maximizing the profit margin. When that group has run its course (remember they extended the sale time because of demand) then, after a time period, they re-introduce the Tirpitz at a lower price, prompting people to buy it at a lower price, who otherwise would not have payed the higher price, thus maximizing profit margins again. If they simply introduced the Tirpitz (example) at a low price, they would have lost large amounts of profits un-necessarily.

I understand that, but I doubt this would go on for much longer. People only keep up with high prices for so long before they get fed up.

That's the thing, I have a feeling these bundles have a limit for a lot of people. I wouldn't be surprised if the Warspite in the EU is pushing people to that limit, especially since it's so close to the Tirpitz bundle sale. There will always be players that have an infinite amount of disposable income for a game, but it's when a company markets specifically towards that demographic that the playerbase starts taking a lot of damage which in turn becomes a self consuming loop. While it's solid marketing and economics, it doesn't have any longevity. The end of that plan is to close the game and start over.

Edit: From what I understand it's that the demand has stayed constant-ish for a while in WoT, the price has just drastically changed. This is probably what is annoying people, the sudden spike with seemingly no change in demand. But none of us have actual figures so nobody can really tell.

This is not the only guy who is upset over this. Was on twitch last night watching some of top twitch guys ( some of who have interviewed the dev team ) and they were all talking about this. They agreed that some players have this kind of money to spend without an issue, but that is a small amount vs the total amount of players playing the game. Those who can afford will continue to spend that money, but if you keep prices the way they are now you will drive away the larger amount of players who can not afford it. That in the long run will kill the game. Even 4 of the 6 twitch guys last night said they are done spending money on these package deals.

Perfect response to people complaining about the ship pricing.

I frankly havent seen the problem but I do agree they should always make an option to sell just the ship with a slot.  They will never offer the ships in game tech tree as they do the same with WOT so the option to buy with gold will not be there. I personally buy the ships at the premium shop instead of the game. That way there is a record for the transaction of buying the ship itself. buy the gold and then the ship with gold the only proof you have for the transaction is the gold and not the ship.

The very first package I bought from WG was the Heavy package in World of tanks before release. It was $90.00. It does not seem like this is really a new issue. There  are ships for sale in the tech tree for gold. We are very early in the WOWS release. There is not that many premium ships out there yet. I expect we will see lots of ways to get prem ships in the future, including:

Packages

Tech tree

Giveaways

Rewards

Jedi has always been a bit price conscious and that is OK.
