In the last few days, I'm getting torped and killed more by friendly dd's than I am by the enemy.  I'm fairly efficient at not getting torpedoed by the enemy, but these friendly dd's sitting back behind me and firing torpedoes at targets that are out of range is becoming epidemic and they're so close to me when they fire that there's no way to avoid their fire.

Wake up you noob dd's and quit spamming torpedoes everywhere with friendlies in front of you.

I do agree, this is kind of an issue, BUT, on the bright side, it gets better the higher you get in tiers.

I think WG needs to implement some sort of training mission when you get your first ship with torpedoes, and make it mandatory, so new players hopefully learn to not be too stupid and TK.

Just word of advice OP, what ever you do, never retaliate against them or rage at them, and especially do not ever TK them. It'll only make things worse and get everyone involved angry and upset, which is no fun.

When that Clemson fires torps at a cruiser 11km away and you're just

The hysterical laughter of watching a Phoenix launch its little 5.5km torps at a Myogi firing at it from max range :child:

Never fire upon a pink player. Sadly they are still on the green team even though they are pink. :(

I always wonder whether or not people realize the range of their -- and their opponent's torpedoes. It's fun to be broadside something like a Phoenix when it fires torpedoes and just not turning - because the fired it 6km away and you haven't gone closer to that point.

No, I never, ever fire on a friendly no matter how upset I am with them.  Not going to lower myself to their level of stupidity.

My current problem with DDs is when I take my little Clemson out for torp missions, I always get put into tier 6 games.

A Tier 4 DD vs Clevelands  matchmaking why u do dis? I wish the 'x number of ship torpedo hits' worked with carriers. I'm almost certain it doesn't, but I'd enjoy doing torp missions in a Langley far more, I believe.

You could always take out the Wickes and have fun in the lower tiers. I mean, if I BB captain such as myself can have a good game in a low tier DD, than I'm sure it'd be a cake walk for you lol. :teethhappy:

That was the point of my Clemson was to just be a low tier DD I could get the torps for the missions on (Tirpitz... you may have torps but I'm not sure you can land 15 of them in a timely manner :child:), but literally every match in it tonight I was the only tier 4 in the game, with everyone else being 5 or 6. I might indeed have to drop down to the Wickes, at least then the worst I could come across would be an Omaha!

Also I'm not so sure of that, I'm quite dreadful in non BB roles I believe!

Sometimes you fire at a range like that to keep him from closing on you or force him take a different route while you disengage.

I do that too as well as looking at the mini map. If the ship will come into my current torpedo circle I'm definitely taking a shot at it especially if I'm playing a US destroyer. This will artificially extend my range for a degree.

I've noticed a lot more of this happening lately too. Not just from DD's but from CV's as well. Its not unusual for me to have to tell them in chat to stop doing it. I wait until I have to dodge their second batch because once may have been an oversight. Twice is an idiot.

From a random poll I have taken from talking with people, it seems most people don't know the range of their guns or torpedoes. They fire guns when the "lock" shows up and they figure torps are good as long as it's green.

I never fire when an Allie is in front of me.

But i have hi frind lies before.

The silliest Imo is when you launch  a Salvo at a BB , sink him  , move on and 15 seconds later get a

You have sunk an allied cruiser message............
