These fights are particularly ridicules. Now I am not the line rider type - as in I never go to the line intentionally as a tactic. However - If I am by the line and someone is shooting me from the line I will take it's advantage as well. All you can do is laugh when you see 2 ships moving towards each other while being almost parallel to each other. Then as you both turn away you slowly fade away while parallel. Seriously. lmbo.

You have to wonder why something so stupid could possibly exist in a fully released game! Come on WG. Do something about this. Nothing breaks immersion more than the realization that you are in a box and the edges of the said box break the laws of physics!  The best solution I have seen is a damage penalty that stacks over time.

there are several threads on this matter, and some will point that out and give advice on how to deal.. a few torps down the line eliminates bot the enemy and his desire to "try that again"

I agree Xeno. I saw the same thing yesterday. Once the enemy bb gave up on the line, we pounded him. While he was on it he took little damage. Looked very silly, moving sideways down the line. Broken movement exploit. Yes I just called it an exploit, and I dont care if wg is gonna call it one or not.

It is easier to shoot a line rider from the line (at least from a mathematical perspective).  That is because you are both on the line and the direction of the shot isnt really in question.  You only need to predict how far along the line he will be.   Overshooting wiil likely hit superstructure too.

I havent tried this but it does seem logical. If I get the chance I will try it.

TBH I have not been having any trouble hitting line riders from range with HE, AP, or whatever I can find laying around (once you estaboish range and your guns are tracking.... it seems easy).... Lead the line.... lead the line  lol

Immersion breaking? It was immersion breaking when I rammed an allied destroyer in a battleship, and it didn't immediately disintegrate. Also kind of immersion breaking when the guns on my Ibuki's second turret pokes through the back of the first turret. Or when my forward guns shoot through  the rigging and flag post on the bow in front of it.

If you're using immersion as an excuse as to why border riding is bad, try again.
