I never played BETA, but i have played WOT and WOP (since wop came out) for the last 4-5 years, and i never seen such a lopsided type of vehicle..

The japanese carriers are litterally inferior in every way to americans...  Im only in tier 4 almost 5 although i dunno if i even want to go in tier 5 with them...   But the fighter planes cannot 1v1 them...  so you spend all game using your one fighter squadren flying in circles around friendly ships doing nothing..  It takes 2 hosho fighter squads together (2 cvs) to kill 1 langely squadren......  And dont even get me on the torp spreads.. manually dropping torps as close as you can you can only get 2 hits...  maybe a 3rd if you make the angle slanted a little... while the americans can drop without any skill and lop 4-5 torps on a single ship with ease...

How is this fair at all ?

Has anyone else noticed this.. because i know in game other Japanese CV players complain about this as well..  its litterally one sided..   Japs get 4 planes and the Americans get what 5 or is it 6 ?  And a 1v1 fight you cant even knock out 1 of those fighters

I think the OP is so new that he hasn't figured out the Langley only gets one of each.  If you don't know that, you would think the way he does. CV isn't easy to learn, as nobody wants to help you because the ANTI CV BULLIES come out of the woodwork calling, "easy mode" and being unhelpful.

OP - Use your fighters in IJN CVs sparingly. Try to either attack the Langley squads with two fighters units, or not at all. (two if you have a friendly CV on the team) Sometimes you can suicide a squad to get your TBs by them.  Stack your TBs together and attack with both of them in the same manual drop. (click and drag them)  They will drop torps tighter together and allow you to score more hits per strike.

OP, I'm in the same boat right now, almost T5 IJN CV and what I do is spread my forces out making my opponent have to pick only 1 place to defend. If he goes left to defend I send my second TB right and get an easy drop. Be like water and fill in the gaps he is unable to defend, patience and planning will pay off. Also keep him on his heels, IJN is always making the first move and he can only react.

Once you get a little higher you can go fighter spec and even though your fighters are inferior to USN fighters you can swamp his CAP and torp his CV.

at Tier V at least, you got to be very Cagey with your planes, at least against Fighter Bogues. Be cautious and pull your planes back if you notice their fighters swooping in. Lure them into engaging your fighters over friendly Clevelands or appropriate hull US BB to even the odds, try and find a way to sneak your strike package around their fighters by observing where they are being sent.

For their tiers, there is no such thing as an awful IJN CV.

For their tiers, there are plenty of examples of an awful USN CV.

The problem that I see is that it's just plain un-fun playing an IJN CV against a USN CV.  Oh, you want to fly your bombers over there?  NOPE!  They're all destroyed.  Congratulations you now have no planes and mine are useless against boats.  GG.

IJN has a higher level of frustration than the American for the first few tiers. Only at Tier 7 with a 2-2-2 build that I felt like I finally had the upper hand.

I rarely see CV's in tier 9-10 matches and when I do it's usually a Midway vs Midway but when I see Hakuryu-san I figure we are kind of screwed because of the Midways fighters so I sort of gave up on it for now and thing WG needs to do a lot of work on Carriers in general to make them more fun/balanced and better. What I mean by more fun is I'd like to see maybe some action screens when my planes start attack run in a mini-video or something instead of just 2D RTS map.

if you have only 1 squadron selected and you push the shift key it changes to 3rd Person.

from that view you are able to adjust attacks before the planes hit the Strike Circle.

I haven't seen anyone mention another situation when it comes to the IJN CV's.

I've played this game for a few months now and only have the tier 6 Ryoju before I stopped playing the line. I really did enjoy the IJN carrier line. Recently, however. I've noticed since the update that has forced me to carry one fighter squad and drop a bomber squad, I've had an increasing problem with fighter humping.

For those of you who aren't aware of what fighter humping is, it's when a CV sends his fighters across the map to the enemy cv, sits outside of the AA engagement range and waits for the carriers planes to be launched, which he immediately chases down and destroys. If you are in a japanese carrier you  have no chance. You an launch your one fighter squadron a few times but lets be honest, you won't do much. You have no chance of doing any further damage especially since the game doesn't take into account fuel for the planes. So he can leave his fighters there for as long as he would like. I'd love to see War Gaming fix this situation so I can get back to demolishing ships with my Japanese carriers. But right now... I just don't play them. I feel I have no chance. Especially with the infamous match making that decides a ryoju will stand strong against an enemy bogue and langely. Hope they can figure something out soon! World of Warships Carrier play has lost its fizz on the Jap side

One of my biggest questions about the IJN line is why does the Mitsubishi A6M in this game suck balls compared to the USN CV fighter load outs, wasn't this plane 3 years ahead of its time when first introduced and had a 12-1 kill ratio against the allies?  In game its a piece of garbage and does not even live up to its legendary status, best use is to screen enemy fighters and watch it die a horrible death.

Don't get me wrong, this is a video game and I damn well know that.  Most of the content is loosely based off of history but the translation to this is so far off its a joke.  I don't expect anything to change because the developers have worked so many kinks out to get the game to this point.  I just think that the legendary "zero" has been reduced to a pile of rubbish and should at least be a little recognized for the direct impact she had on the war.

You have yet to see the true potential of the IJN CV in this game.  I don't mean that in an insulting way.  But when you get higher tiers with IJN CVs... You'll laugh when you see USN CVs.  IJN CVs leave USN ones in the dirt.  The only time where the USN CVs are truly equal in competition is at Tier IX and X.  Every tier below, USN CVs are subpar.

Give your IJN CVs more chances and I promise you, you will be so happy you went up the correct CV line.
